Hey, during his only foreign deployment, for six months in Italy, if he ate too much pasta he could have had a bad case of Michelangelo’s Revenge. I am sure he still wakes up in a cold sweat recalling it.

I’m so sick of these liars that my dislike for them got the better of me this morning.
Posit Walz has lived in a world where much of the media consists of a residue of local newspapers, Patch sites and TV stations whose reporting isn’t devoted to skeptical coverage of state government. The rest consists of Regime mouthpieces like the Minneapolis Star-Tribune. You’ve got people like the Powerline crew keeping an eye on him, but their reporting manpower is limited. Now, lots of little people are putting tiles in the mosaic and you can see him in a way he does not want to be seen.
Well you know, Afghanistan and Italy both have the letter “a” in them.
Walz is a facile liar with a stong propensity for fallacies
That CSPAN clip, he never claims to have PTSD or having been in Afghanistan, at least the clip I’ve seen. He’s not even trying to imply it.
Unless Pinky he is talking about the terrible post traumatic stress disorders his unit incurred when deployed to Italy, he clearly states he was with his unit when it was in combat, and that is a bald faced lie.
It seems to me he’s talking about a generic processing that everyone goes through as they return home.
No he specifically referred to his unit and how they were shown the film The Horse Whisperer in lieu of counseling for post traumatic stress disorder. His use of “we” made his intent to give a false impression clear.

OTOH https://www.independent.co.uk/news/world/americas/us-politics/jd-vance-iraq-military-stolen-valor-b2594155.html What JD Vance did in Iraq, as told by the friend who served with him
Can’t find the number of military Combat Correspondants KIA in Irag and Afghanistan online. Retired USMC PAO states 130. Once out the gates of a FOB (Forward Operating Base) it is not that safe. Inside my nephew at a FOB in Afghanistann said they were hit with incoming rockets quite often and were not allowed to return fire.
At the very least Tim Walz has very heavily implied that he was a combat veteran, as has MSM reporting on him. A lot of this falls into the “technically accurate but highly misleading” category, such as a report for his 2005 run that said “he was deployed overseas with his field artillery unit in Operation Iraqi Freedom.” Technically true: he was briefly in Italy in a support role before he retired in advance of his unit actually going to Iraq. But anyone who didn’t already know the facts is going to assume that means that he was actually in Iraq. Similarly you can argue that in the CSPAN clip that Walz never explicitly says that he had to endure mental trauma from being in combat. But come on, he’s complaining about the minimal amount of support for PTSD that he got, which anyone who was unfamiliar with his military history would take to mean that he needed treatment for PTSD.
Here’s another clip to consider:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rjNmEiS3uLM
Pelosi calls Walz a “Command Sergeant Major” (not a rank he ever had; the promotion was conditional on him deploying to Iraq) and talks about his achievements “on the battlefield”, despite him never being in combat. Now that’s Pelosi, not Walz, but it’s not like he corrects her despite having the perfect opportunity to do so when addressing her accidentally calling him the wrong name.
That’s the game that the dems used to play: avoid lying directly. Say things that obviously imply an untruth, but which technically don’t mention it. If you need to have something outright false said, have someone else say it for you (and that person can just claim to be “mistaken” if called on it later, meanwhile the voters have accepted the lie as truth.) Now they just blatantly lie.
All this being said, Republicans should be hitting Walz more on his radical policies, like putting tampons in mens restrooms, including in public high schools/elementary schools. There is no wiggle room here; this happened (I have seen them with my own eyes.) The left also can’t deny this claim, because they have to see that providing tampons to men is a good thing, lest they anger the alphabet people.
