Pope Indifferent the First strikes again. It’s ecumenism that has to go, not proselytism.
So the role of the Apostles was to go forth and listen?
Funny how ecumenists ignore the fact that the only reason for ecumenism is to establish enough common ground that those on the other side cross the Tiber.
The nicest, squint and I can sort of make it out, interpretation I’ve seen is that the word “proselytism” carries some implication of coercion or pressure. Now, I don’t know if that’s just a spin among anti-colonialists, but it’s the only thing I’ve seen that can square this with traditional teaching.
Thusly the new P. Francis New Testament deletes Matt. 28:16-20.

Rome recently announced that Fr. James Martin SJ will be one of the speakers at World Youth Day. I think it’s safe to assume that he’s there to persuade his listeners that the Church’s view on ‘pelvic issues’, especially same-sex attraction, are more… ‘nuanced’ and ‘evolving’ than the Church has previously taught.
But thank heavens! we can rest assured that in no way will he be proselytizing those assembled youths.
Hopefully the Youth will have taken biology, and will successfully resist the beguiling mating practices of James Martin.
Pope Francis was not lying when he declared that he is not the Vicar of Christ.
