PopeWatch: Day 4
- Donald R. McClarey
Donald R. McClarey
Cradle Catholic. Active in the pro-life movement since 1973. Father of three, one in Heaven, and happily married for 43 years. Small town lawyer and amateur historian. Former president of the board of directors of the local crisis pregnancy center for a decade.

On Sunday they laid palms at the feet of his arrival into Jerusalem. Five days later some of them were spurned on to say; crucify him.
Missed opportunities to lead the faitful in a moment of obvious defense for Christ could lead one to believe that the Lavender Mafia has it’s
Quarterback in the game. For the sake of the soul of Francis I hope I’m wrong.
In my long life, there has never been a Pope that I couldn’t, or wouldn’t, defend. All I can do now is weep inside and pray for him.
He did bring out one of his favorite hobby horses, deadly military weapons. That means he thought he had to say “something”.
I’m not surprised at all by this, given his at least tacit approval of some very dodgy Nativity displays over the years of his regime. Although not quite as blatant, at least one or two of them, IIRC, contained elements of a similar character to the Olympic nonsense. Then there have been the instances of homoerotic dance routines done by half naked men during events in front of St. Peter’s Basilica, and his appointment of questionable characters like Paglia and Fernandez, to name only two, to positions of power in the Curia. These are only examples of a steady pattern. Interpret all of this as you will. Personally, I think he either approves of the content or is afraid to anger LeftCath media supporters and especially his BFF James Martin of the Jesuit Church.
