Yup, that’s our Vatican. Couldn’t even find the common courtesy to mention Trump’s name when they issued their statement of “concern” over “violence” after he was nearly killed. But POTATUS is their hero.
The next Catholic Pope should fire every single person in the Curia and start over, with about a 90 percent reduction in numbers.

Ah, yes. I remember it well. Pope Benedict was forced to choose Francis as his running mate. Then he had a disastrous debate with a political rival. Then he was pressured for weeks to resign, and he and his family resisted until they were promised a huge payout. Then he finally resigned after feigning illness. Then Pope Francis took over.
It’s at times like these that I get a little inkling of what Otto I felt when informed of the character and deeds of Pope John XII.
