PopeWatch: Populism

Go here to read the story.  The Pope’s stand on Populism is that he supports it if it is Leftist and condemns it if it is conservative.  It can only be an exercise in gaslighting that our most ideological pope condemns ideologues.  Doubtless he made the remarks to help influence the outcome of the elections in France.  Mission accomplished Holiness.

If French political history is any predictor, the election results, which showed a three way division of the three major parties, are also predicting a period of considerable turmoil. There is no majority and the factions will be seeking individual power by any means possible. In all of this turmoil the left will be looking to foist a new MItterand on the populace under the guise of a popular front.
