The pope will issue a retraction of his apology the second Tuesday of next week.
They’ve never made an attempt at excavating the site. The whole imbroglio has been an excuse for Liberal Party pols to allocate treasury money to people on their patronage. It is my firm belief that apologies for things you did not do is dishonest, deranged and spiritually hazardous. It presents a false reality in which the group is responsible for the acts of an individual.
For example, I will not apologize for Rupnik. Not my doing, never met the man. I might as reasonably apologize for the fall of Rome.

It was a professor playing around with ground penetrating radar, a technology with which she was theretofore unfamiliar. She found 215 anomalies, but they’ve never been investigated further. By some accounts, there was a cemetery there with wooden grave markers which were later deteriorated. If you found any graves there, you’d have to compare mean annual additions to period mortality, especially to the toll from tuberculosis.

One of the more recent attempt to actually investigate a site with these supposed anomalies was somewhere in Manitoba (IIRC). It was a small sample of anomalies. They dug up the ground and found…nothing.

Trudeau wife has since left him. When you play with people’s lives (forever vaccines, lockdowns) and spread false rumours about Gods Church, God has a way to “wake you up”. How do you take back an apology? If the people you sent it to were decent people, they’d send it back to you. But they are not decent people. Waste of time to go and demand they give you back the apology.
At the time Sophie Gregoire married Justin Trudeau, he’d quit teaching and was in the midst of one of his two abandoned attempts at a post-baccalaureate degree. She’s not a sympathetic figure.
