Church Contributions at Work
Donald R. McClarey
Cradle Catholic. Active in the pro-life movement since 1973. Father of three, one in Heaven, and happily married for 41 years. Small town lawyer and amateur historian. Former president of the board of directors of the local crisis pregnancy center for a decade.
Mr. Russell is one the few people I follow on X. He always defends the Faith. He appears to be an upright man, now persecuted by Bergoglioians.
Don,
Lately I have become even more frustrated with the lack of preaching by clergy, and especially of late -permanent deacons as they sometimes give sermons. These men have jobs, or are retired. Why can’t they speak out? Why are they not? What could possibly be done to them if they did, other than moved to lesser or more distant parish?
This lack of preaching, lack of care for the laity became even more conspicuous to me this past Good Friday.
Christ was crucified; even financially protected clergy cannot summon the courage to say:
“Male and female, HE created them”.
“Marriage is between one man and one woman.”
Help me out with understanding this. It’s all very very strange and unnatural to me.
It’s as if Quietism and Cowardice have become Virtues. Or perhaps always were to these men, and that is why they were “chosen”.
I think many are “waiting out” the Pope. There is an expectation in the air that the reign of Francis the Worst will soon come to an end. We shall see. The clergy do not often attract bold spirits, and for a priest to be at odds with the Pope is something that I think most priests find daunting, at least to express publicly.
Yup.
Why they wonder why not everyone uses real name on X.
Lewis is no good and is delusional if he thought he could be a good fit for even speaking w conservatives.
That’s also when he (Eden etc) blocked me, I quickly block them back because they are no good, boot lickers
Someone needs to remind Mike Lewis what we were taught in school – “snitches get stitches”. The divide between Catholics since PF has been Pope has been pretty ugly.
I used to read Simcha Fishers Blog. I liked her dry humour when she would write about her day
running a large family and I enjoyed her writing about her Jewish heritage. Then one day she posted something in support of BLM and George Floyd protests when it was emerging during Covid lockdowns. I questioned her post about why BLM agitators were getting preferential treatment to protest in the street en mass, when the rest of the world was stuck locked in their home. She turned pretty nasty to anyone that questioned her support for BLM. I just decided I couldn’t read her anymore and haven’t since.
No one should withhold shouting the Gospel truth from the rooftops in fear that their careers will be harmed by Pope Vindictus I.
And calling together the crowd with his disciples, he said to the “If anyone chooses to follow me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross, and follow me.
For whoever will have chosen to save his life, will lose it. But whoever will have lost his life, for my sake and for the Gospel, shall save it.
For how does it benefit a man, if he gains the whole world, and yet causes harm to his soul?
Or, what will a man give in exchange for his soul?
For whoever has been ashamed of me and of my words, among this adulterous and sinful generation, the Son of man also will be ashamed of him, when he will arrive in the glory of his Father, with the holy Angels.”
