Go here to read the story. A Pope can void the oath that he took as a Cardinal to maintain the secrecy of the Conclave. Of course this raises in every Cardinal’s mind that what is done in a Conclave may ultimately be revealed by a Pope. Why the Pope is revealing this now is curious. Is this somehow setting the groundwork for the Conclave to succeed him? Of course there may be no plan. Often the Pope acts simply on whim and impulse. The interesting feature of this however, is the revelation of a faction strongly opposed to Cardinal Ratzinger. This has long been suspected, but the Pope’s statement is ironclad evidence. PopeWatch suspects that the Pope was sending a signal by this revelation. To whom and for what purpose is currently unclear.
PopeWatch: Yep

Pride and arrogance are a downfall.
But true psychopaths can’t help but take credit for what they are about to do.
Maybe the changing of the station of the cross was more of a revelation of himself and Christ’s Church
This seems very bad in several ways:
He can dispense his own oath, you say, but when you consider that an oath is solemnly entered into with God, one wonders if he should dispense it, particularly when there seems to be no compelling reason.
No other participant has the ability to dispense with his own oath, so we only have one man’s interpretation of what occurred at the conclave with no one permitted to rebut.
More disturbing however is Frances’ assertion that the Holy Spirit was saying “I am in charge. There is no room for maneuvering.” In the Synod and in so many bad choices, this man claims that he is listening to the Holy Spirit. If he believes this, Francis may be hearing the Holy Spirit, or he may only believe that he is hearing the Holy Spirit. If he does not really believe this but says he does, that would seem to fall under the dire category of blaspheming the Holy Spirit…

Given his newest announcement, that Benedict was in agreement with him on legal rights for same-sex couples, I would hypothesize that he is now making a ham-fisted attempt to co-opt his predecessor. But that’s just one primate’s opinion.
If they had elected someone like me, who makes a big mess, he would not have been able to do anything
I think he is telling the truth. The signalling is to the public, not to the conclave. That there are powers in conclave with a sinister agenda. And when he said the Holy Spirit was i charge, I believe he meant that the Holy Spirit inspired him to speak up to tell them to stop “joking with his candidacy”. PF does not have much longer on this earth. What does he face to loose now with his revelation?
If that narcissist didn’t vote for himself, I’ll eat my hat!
Ezabelle, what he has to gain, were he able to convince people that B16 agreed with him, is the modicum of credibility that he lacks today. It’s why I sometimes quote Augustine or Aquinas … Of course, the stuff I quote is written down for all to see. Francis’ claims are conveniently unconfirmable.
You are probably correct CAG. B16 is not here to verify if any of this is true and it is convenient he comes out with this after B16 has passed away.
However, If you assume that everything coming out of his mouth is a lie then the only thing left that we know for certain is that there are dark forces working in the conclave and that all we can do is pray that God bestows His infinite Mercy on the faithful (even though we don’t deserve it) and grant us a good Pope after this one.

Maybe the Evangelicals are right? Pope Francis is in league with Satan and will bring the fall of the Catholic Church. They believe it. Maybe we should too?
Dave Brown – Matthew 16:18 RSVCE, Jesus said, “And I tell you, you are Peter, and on this rock I will build my Church, and the powers of Hell shall not prevail against it”. Evangelicals have many different humans that start their churches; I prefer to belong to the Church that Jesus established. The Catholic Church is the fullness of Christianity, so an Evangelical’s opinion is of no significance.
