Touching Norman Rockwell picture. The three star flag indicates that the family has three sons in service. The photographs indicate they are serving on sea, on land and in the air. Their Dad is keeping up with the war news, tracking as best he can where his boys are. The old man likely served in World War I. The cats at his feet are a nice touch.

Interesting map. I didn’t think maps would have had such contemporary changes. The map makers must have been busy.
Spotted the photos of the 3 sons under the star flag. A great painting capturing a moment and filled with so much to look at.
Outstanding picture! It chokes me up a little bit.
This one, though, The War Hero, is the one that really chokes me up, every expression and attitude. I don’t think Rockwell ever painted anything with more humanity and sentiment.
