Do not be deceived by the excised parts of the readings. When there are gaps in the numbers, go back and read “the rest of the story.”

Very correct TBOptimist … This week the Gospels for Mass have been from John chapter 8, but I noticed between Wednesday and Thursday, they skipped this:
Why do you not understand what I am saying? Because you cannot bear to hear my word.
You belong to your father the devil and you willingly carry out your father’s desires. He was a murderer from the beginning and does not stand in truth, because there is no truth in him. When he tells a lie, he speaks in character, because he is a liar and the father of lies.
But because I speak the truth, you do not believe me.
Can any of you charge me with sin? If I am telling the truth, why do you not believe me?
Whoever belongs to God hears the words of God; for this reason you do not listen, because you do not belong to God.”

Hmmm, God has some scary warning words for liars, I wonder why the folks in charge chose to leave that part out?
Exactly David WS- it doesn’t work! Two people with testosterone marrying each other…Can you imagine the inevitable disagreements in a household being settled by two men. I don’t have the data, but common sense tells you there would be high levels of domestic violence.
Who is going to compromise between the two and on which points? The differences between men and women are clear, but what are the differences between 2 men and 2 women?
The ugliness when times are tough would be amplified. It’s not how God logically created it. That’s why God does not allow it. It doesn’t work.
