Go here to read the story. The Pope is Vicar of Christ, not His Dictator. Papal power has always worked best in the history of the Church when used sparingly and in coordination with the Pope’s fellow Bishops. The office of Pope functions poorly when the occupant of the moment decides to engage in power grabs to implement dubious projects which have bupkis to do with the mission of the Church.

If this devolves into a similar situation, I hope I will have the fortitude to take up accomodations in the Tower like St Thomas Moore.
Knowing myself, that fortitude may fail, but with Christ all things are possible if they be His will.
The most likely events will be the slow bleeding of the Church by such men with no opportunities for men of good will little influence to say “no” I try to be ready for whatever small circumstance in which God expects me to act.
