Francis was given the bird!
I didn’t remember the dove incident; compared to the lightning strikes on the eve of his election as well as that statue earlier in the year that’s a minor footnote to me.
If you want a regular spring of papolatry, follow Ivereigh on X. He issued forth another of his creepy equations of the pontiff with Our Savior.
I have to say, the Francis is looking pretty svelte in that propaganda picture. If he’s so awesome, why not depict him as he actually is? i.e., not quite a Baron Harkonen physique, but not all that far from it, either.
I forgot about the birds. Crows can symbolize death and destruction but also watchfulness, renewal and rebirth. Seagulls represent persistance, communication and growth.
If, indeed, this was an omen, it may have been saying “Hang on, it’ll be OK. Just take care of yourselves in the meantime, and pray.”
That’s what I’m going with, anyway.
