“Why is it so important for them to profane Mary in this way?”
The common complaint from Protestants is that Catholics believe that Mary did not need a Saviour, that she did not need faith in Jesus in order to be saved, and that she was a superhuman, almost godlike, able to save herself through good works. These insults and slights against Mary are the Protestant’s way of bringing her down to earth and putting her in a grave.

Before Mary was conceived without sin, Mary’s soul was created without sin in original innocence as are all souls from Adam to the end of time created in original innocence. Being created in original innocence, every soul has full knowledge and fully informed consent since concupiscence has not darkened the soul.
Mary desired Perpetual Virginity in body and soul, to serve God forever and ever. God, then, granted Mary her desire. Mary was then pro-created with original innocence; legal and moral innocence, the standard of Justice for all people, and especially those individuals who have not desired to maintain their original innocence and have fallen into the grips of the devil and concupiscence. Mary asked of Juan Diego at Guadalupe: “Am I not your Mother?”
Acknowledging Mary as our Mother, the Mother of the Son of God, Jesus Christ, Mother of the Church and Exterminatrix of Heresies, are who Mary is and who Mary is before all ages outside of time and space and in eternity, the metaphysical world.
Those who would disparage the Blessed Virgin Mary do so to hide their own lack of holiness. Their ignorance is astounding especially because they choose to believe that they are hidden; hidden in the crags of hell, concupiscence and darkness from the sight and correction of others.
Any one who would disparage Mary, the Mother of Jesus is jealous, like Satan of all Blessedness, that chance of Perpetual Virginity in body and soul; that chance of Perpetual Virginity in body and soul to remain faithful to God for all eternity.
Perpetual Virginity means Perpetual Virginity means Perpetual Virginity ad infinitum.
God will not be mocked. Nor will He allow his Mother to be mocked.

Want to leave most anti-Marian Protestants speechless, or close to it? When they drop one of their casual insults, ask them: “Don’t you think Jesus loves his mother? Then why wouldn’t it make him happy if we love His mother, too?”
The usual retreat is into some variant of “Well, it isn’t in the Bible.” At which point I ask them if the Gospel of Luke is missing from their copy.
