The confusion of faith with an electric blanket is probably why so many think that the world and it’s goods can replace it.

Jesus Christ is the symbol for the Real Presence in the Holy Eucharist.
It sure is.
Bruised Optimist, regarding “the world and its goods”, when I was quite young, I had an edited, but not dumbed-down version of Bunyan’s “Pilgrim’s Progress”. It fascinated me, and I read it many times. But the one image that made a deep, unforgettable impression on me was “The Slough of Despond”. What a timely title and theme for a book or movie that would be. Amazon would cancel it.
