Singer Toby Keith has lost his long and valiant struggle against cancer and is dead at age 62. I know him best from the song he wrote after 9-11, Courtesy of the Red, White and Blue, which encapsulated the rage of the American people after that outrage. Unlike most in the entertainment industry he had one and only wife. He called his Christian faith the rock on which he leaned during his fight with cancer. Now he is free from cancer, and beyond pain and death. May he now be jamming with other great musicians in the Heavenly choir.
May he rest in peace, and may his music ease the pain in those who will miss him.
Told my husband- his response was a blink and “Toby Keith, himself? You don’t mean his mom or something?”

??He’s not beyond pain if he’s in Purgatory?? Right??
I simply love the song “dont let the old man in”. RIP Toby Keith
Physical pain he is. If I land in Purgatory, I will have a permanent smile on my face no matter what is done to me.
It is a sin of presumption to declare that anyone, except a properly canonized saint, is in heaven. Jesus, & only Jesus, is our judge.
Uncoil the spring JMJ. I was not canonizing him. I was expressing a hope that he is in Heaven.
Was Toby Keith Catholic?
