😂 this is brilliant. We have the same roadworks team in Australia. Except in our case major road works are usually conducted during peak hour. And the lollipop girls are generally backpackers alternating between their summer fruit picking gigs.
If your local highway department is not fixing potholes, you ask why they aren’t. There isn’t an alternative to your local highway department. (I haven’t lived in a place where potholes were a problem since 1981, btw. There is a problem with the design of the road where I live, but that’s not an issue with road crews themselves). The problem with the global warming discourse is not that it expects government employees to do something, but that it shows telltale signs of being another set of excuses for officious people to harass others. The chaps who pick up your trash are not officious people.
Having spent some 30 years in the Engineering Department of a large metropolitan entity, I can attest to the truth of that.
