A bishop who bans the blessings will not be elevated to archbishop or cardinal. Priest who refuse will not become a Bishop.

A crucial difference.

We live in the fallen world where very, very little lasts forever – good or bad.

The priests and bishops we need – desperately – are the ones who have little difficulty choosing between titles and advancement and doing what is right.

In the first millennium, schism had a different meaning and practice. Today, it appears closer to simply differing opinions. This, probably, to present an image of unity that does not exist. This is why PF and various dissidents like Fr. Martin appear to happily coexist and in the meantime cause quite a bit of consternation and confusion in the pews.

Parishioners have been excommunicated for kneeling to receive the Holy Eucharist. Pope has empty pews. Homosexuals are not going to fill his pews.

I agree. Queers alone won’t pay the bills. Or fill the pews. They will destroy this institution and move on to the next shiny thing to break.
