Amèn!
it would be nice if he would pray for his own flock. Just sayin.
The second reading on December 17th reminds us to test everything.
Reading 2
1 Thes 5:16-24
Rejoice always. Pray without ceasing.
In all circumstances give thanks,
for this is the will of God for you in Christ Jesus.
Do not quench the Spirit.
Do not despise prophetic utterances.
Test everything; retain what is good.
Refrain from every kind of evil.
May the God of peace make you perfectly holy
and may you entirely, spirit, soul, and body,
be preserved blameless for the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ.
The one who calls you is faithful,
and he will also accomplish it.
retain what is good … ok …refrain from every kind of evil.
Great idea. One wouldn’t want to loose heaven because of worldly beliefs or pursuits, would one?
It is incredible. Keys and halo. Zapped.
oops…
Reminds me of an old Chinese saying on authority and the lives of the citizens; the road is long and the emperor is far away.
He does need them, so I try to remember to do so.
I remember reading somewhere that one of the reasons God asks us to pray for aggravating people is for our own good.
That helps.
My AA sponsor agrees with Dale Price – praying for those who aggravate us may not do them any good, but it sure will do us good (and help keep this former drunken dope fiend sober one more day).
