Bravo!
Update:
Well he is a Bishop, but of the Old Catholic Church, not in communion with Rome. His words are true however. It would be nice if some of our Bishops would stand up, but I think most of them have their spines removed at the time of their consecration.
Beautiful to see!
Nice statement. Deficient persecutor? That’s a loaded term. Get ready to duck!
Excellent!
The only thing that is missing is 100 other such letters from brother Bishops to their flocks, reassuring them of THEIR and our fidelity to the unchanging Truths of our Catholic Faith.
Great letter!
Beautiful.
I’m not sure having a sedevacantist in his corner is terribly helpful right now. It only serves to make Bishop Strickland look “fringy”.
his deficient persecutor. Ouch. That’s gonna leave a mark. Much deserved..
The striking thing is that the Old Catholic Church(es), despite their name, are not particularly known for being traditionalist or orthodox in their theology. Their overriding common bond is that they reject the doctrine of papal infallibility proclaimed by the First Vatican Council in 1870-71.
Today Old Catholic churches are broadly divided into two groups: the original Union of Utrecht and the Union of Scranton (Pennsylvania), which was formed in 2008 after the Union of Utrecht churches began ordaining women and blessing same-sex unions. The See of Caer-Glow belongs to the Canonical Old Roman Catholic Church, which was established in the 1960s by a Catholic priest who was married but refused to be laicized and started his own church. The website for this particular prelate’s church still lists him as “Father” so his appointment as bishop must be pretty recent.

“For the good of souls and the integrity of our holy Catholic Faith.” One of worst aspects of Pope Francis ‘ reign is his ambiguous and not so ambiguous pronouncements that are leading souls on the path toward damnation aka Hell.
Looking at the Old Catholic Church web site there is an English and a Latin Mass there on Sundays with Confession available 30 minutes prior to the services.
This bishop speaks the truth
Excellent! And he doesn’t use the phrase “holy father” which really irks me these days when writers do. He uses “Francis”
I’ve seen people say he’s bishop of some breakaway order that isn’t in communion with the Church.
I say it right in the post Dave.
