….it no longer gives life.

I’m sorry….but “when if ever” did it give life?
With one exception, that being the holy Sacraments, did liberal Catholicism bring about new life into the Church. Negative.

It weakened the Body of Christ.

Vocations plummeted.

Formation stopped.

The Lavender Mafia had life within it’s ranks but that was it.

It is a quiet miracle that seminaries are producing priests who reject the progressive mold. The people in charge of most dioceses ARE the progressive mold.

In my humble opinion, this is miraculous. It even happens in New York! New York, whose Cardinal Dolan is the epitome of the “it’s all good” prelate!

I recently discussed this with my son, who was dismayed by the priest now assigned to our parish after the latest USCCB recommended shuffle. I reminded him that Father X is just two years from retirement and reminded him also of the great young priests he has met or attended Mass with.

Although it’s dismaying to think that Father X was somewhat in charge of vocations (!) the miracle lies in such a rich crop rising from such poorly tilled soil.

As GK Chesterton opined:
The most incredible thing about miracles is that they happen

A “younger” priest was just assigned to our parish after a sabbatical. The first Mass I heard him say completely recharged my faith. He WAS In Persona Christi, his homily was on the readings and their lessons, and his precision and memorized recital of the liturgy was awesome.

Jee, who’d of thought that a commitment to sterility (physical and intellectual) could result in a lack of descendants?

Everyone is tired of the mediocrity. The growth in traditional seminarians makes complete sense – men who are called to the priesthood want something more than the world is able to offer to be one with the Truth. So why would a man give up everything the world has to offer to serve God and but still follow the ways of the world?

I guess that’s what inspired Shea today to write, “For Normal Catholics feeling Outnumbered and Alone.”
