Amen Donald!

It says that your priests are not engaged. Not being father’s to their flock. Not helping in the building of God’s kingdom on earth.

It says that the formation process is non-existent and in need of proper teachings, proper leadership and PRAYER.

Bring Jesus out for an hour each day to start.

Tell your dwindling flock that at noon each day adoration WILL take place…and keep the promise. That’s a mandate for each parish in his care.

That is a great start to changing things around.

Bring out the true leader par excellence..

He will fill his church once again regardless of the poor leadership, but it must start with adoration.

Philip you are absolutely correct. I’d go one step more: OPEN your churches for prayer. I live in a DC suburb and almost every parish is closed after the single morning Mass. My parish church is a five minute walk from my front door, but I must drive for 20 minutes to s church that is open to make a visit and to pray the rosary. Closed Catholic churches shout “no one home here.

When parishioners… even if it’s only two…give up their lunch to be before the King of Kings things will change for the better. That small sacrifice combined with His real presence, can and will move mountains.

Please dear priests and bishops.

Women’s ordination in Holy Catholic Church is what Satan wants. It can’t happen, but as leadership considers this error as a remedy, it will only aid in the voluntary removal of good Catholic faithful from parishes. They will distance themselves from this abomination.

It’s time to fish or cut bait.

Bad choices are made when men of bad faith advocate bad solutions to those who have been badly educated.

St Jude, please pray for us.

The Church has to consider other solutions regarding the ecclesial spiritual experience – like African and Asian priests.

His Excellency has been bishop of Essen for 14 years, ‘leading’ a flock of approximately 850,000 registered Catholics. He has zero seminarians, when there are over 400,000 Catholic men in his diocese? It’s an amazing display of chutzpah that His Excellency would declare that the problem lies not in his own leadership (or the lack thereof), but rather it’s the Church which is to blame.

I am not surprised to find that Bishop Overbeck has gone on the record stating that same-sex marriage should be accepted and not described as immoral. He has called for a reform of Catholic sexual ethics, and opined that there should be exceptions for clerical celibacy. He has stated that many Catholics don’t understand why women cannot be ordained deacons and priests (isn’t it his job to educate his flock if they don’t understand?) and therefore women’s ‘ordination’ should be allowed.

Of course no one wants to become a priest in his diocese! Who would want to pledge obedience to such a deeply mediocre man who announces how the Church, Catholic morality, and the priesthood itself are all in need of his visions for reformation— when he clearly cannot do the job he already has. Of course any potential vocations would be, as Yogi Berra would put it, “staying away in droves”.

Clinton.

I had no idea that his realm is that populated.
Inexcusable and downright shameful.

How dare he blame the church for his incompetence.

FORD Engineering president blames FORD for poor quality and lack of meeting standards that assure a desirable product.
Ford Engineering president has been removed from position.

Unfortunately the quality control mechanisms and methods of replacing those who no longer even pretend to be worthy of their office is, shall we say; unorthodox.

The Chairman of the board isn’t asleep even if his second in command is napping.

It would be interesting to see what Church demographics would look like if bishops’ careers depended on their performance and not just on their ability to shift blame and manage the decline of their diocese.

What if promotions depended on a bishop’s record of ordinations, baptisms, Church weddings, and conversions? I suspect a lot of them would spend more time scrambling to figure out what will get and keep butts in pews, and less time whining about how humanity is different now and the Church needs to catch up with the times and accept Her decline.

And while I’m at it, I think that if a bishop’s diocese is trending towards a decline, that bishop shouldn’t have a vote on policy decisions in the USCCB, nor should he sit on any committees. Why should a bishop who’s talents consist only of gladhanding, golf, and making excuses for his failure have any say in the Church’s decisions nation-wide? His mediocrity should be confined to his own failing diocese— let him get his act together before he lectures the Church at large on how She needs to improve.

We in SW Michigan have a new Bishop. I doubt he will make the 30 minute drive to my local parish. Ever.

Typical of our ineffective princes of the church. “I’ve done nothing and it hasn’t worked.”

He should book an appintment at his local Millstone Tailoring and Fitting.

My bet is that in 14 years as spiritual leader he has never given one homily on sin and eternity in Hell as the free choice of many?

All the women in the world ordained would not give the Church one priest.
