Satan is circling the Catholic Church like a vulture with very specific interests…the blessing of sexual sins. -OE.

One great and terrible day the vultures will be nothing more than a broken whoppi cushion.
Until then, gas bags get a national platform.

@3:30 in the video clip, Whoopi admits going to Catholic school in 1959, proceeding to praise John XXIII because he said (according to Whoopi), “..We need to stop having the Mass in Latin” because people (according to Whoopi) didn’t understand it, and nuns needed to end wearing their habits (Ana Navarro nods her head in agreement, “the good Pope,” she chimes in).

And they’re so completely misinformed that John XXIII wanted to continue the Latin Mass as it always had been, and in fact to codify Latin as the Church language (Veterum Sapientia, 1962, probably the last decree he actually actively composed before becoming incapacitated by stomach cancer by the end of 1962) and JXXIII made no provision for the massive changes that swept through and subsequently destroyed religious orders (that document, Perfectae Caritatis, which is one of the most abused and deliberately misinterpreted of all V2 docs, was issued Oct 28, 1965, during session III, which by that time the Hans Kung-Gregory Baum wing was running the Council).

The Rogue Council gets 3 cheers from Whoopi, Ana Navarro, and the Argentine dissembler.

sigh Very sad that this view of Catholic faith went out over national airwaves. They demonstrated just enough knowledge of Catholic faith and intent to badly mis-cast the Church’s teaching and practice. Interesting how Whoop, herself, declares she has no intent of returning to Mass. T’would seem that adopting the “language of the people” wasn’t enough.
Tragic that many souls, especially on college campuses, saw this and may be dissuaded from seeking the Church’s help.

Why has she tried so hard to see him?

She claims that she wanted to thank him for her gay friends, but that’s not in the video. In the video she could have been any comedic actress of the last 100 years, not the adversarial mouthpiece she often is. She is respectful, and humble!

Her framing things differently when she is back with her peers seems to me an indication that maybe, just maybe, God is reaching her.

She would not be the first actor to be changed by a role, even years after that role. I will be praying that it is so.

What persuades me that this might be the case is her following the right things wrongly. She goes to Rome to meet the pope, but applauds his least Popey things. Reminds me of a convert I know who used to take the Lord’s name in vain because they thought that’s how Christians swear!

Anyone can meet the Pope these days it seems – actors, comediennes, talk show hosts.

Whoopi was correct when she said at 0.45mins “he is a Pope for all people regardless of religion.” Yes unfortunately so. And because of this many Catholics feel abandoned.

It reminds me of Winifred Banks in Mary Poppins who goes out fighting for female rights (think the catchy “Sister Suffragette”)- all while her children are being looked after by revolving door Nanny’s. Mrs Banks is “saving the world” and yet her own children need her. That’s the faithful at the moment.
