PopeWatch: Climate Change

Yet another attempt by our Pope to advance Left Wing ideology by the traditional deference that Catholics accord their Pope.  Such deference is not due when a Pope ventures an opinion outside the competence of his office.  Then his opinion must stand or fall on the basis of the strength of his arguments.  Much more on Laudate Deum when PopeWatch has time, something which he is very short of this week.

“If we consider that emissions per individual in the United States are about two times greater than those of individuals living in China, and about seven times greater than the average of the poorest countries, we can state that a broad change in the irresponsible lifestyle connected with the Western model would have a significant long-term impact”

We know who owns the papacy now (is this why the Italian mafia had to go – make room for Chinese?). It’s obscene the amount of pollution China puts out wo any consequences. But our running to the beach on weekends- we are killing the planet.

I don’t think the man knows how environmentally clean Western countries are compared to other nations, nor that carbon dioxide is plant food and in carbonated beverages.

Of course the climate changes; it has in the past and will in the future, as God has designed the workings of His universe. But what man does has little effect on climate as many scientists have declared. See, for example,

The problem with PF is that he thinks he knows more than he actually does.

Is there ANY acknowledgment in this document that overzealous Western efforts to combat climate change by banning fossil fuels, forcing everyone to drive electric cars, imposing ridiculously strict regulations on gas-powered appliances, etc. impose significant hardship and harm on the very same poor and vulnerable populations that the pope claims to be defending?

Two thoughts:

One, PF has made effective use of his disdain for capitalism, albeit one that is skewed entirely by it’s practice in Argentina, to chide his favorite strawman, the US. Laudate Deum is just the newest cudgel.

Two, the left seen no difference between a secular NGO and the Church because all that matters is effective ameliation of this world’s suffering. Call it social justice or whatever shibboleth you want, it’s not about saving souls. It’s about power and assuaging guilt.

Elaine, not only that, the one profiting from the green push (solar panels and wind mills) is China. No matter we can’t recycle them bc of poisons in them – in reg waste

I’ve probably been thinking on this too much but consider this.
We are one of the last countries that has a semblance of free speech (we are winning CISAs cases which were behind some of censorship on social media).
So we have to be the big bad guys (which we are when it comes to warmongering and exporting sin (abortion and now alphabet disease) – we have to be labeled in order for their new world order socialism to take effect.

I can’t believe in Catholic circles socialism is even being considered. But it’s their answer to world poverty. They have no idea what they are asking for.

I’ll wear the label “denier” proudly

Mrs Opey and Elaine- so true. Solar panels are predominantly manufactured in China.

The problem with PF is that he thinks he knows more than he actually does. – Truth. The same way mankind thinks it can control more than it actually can. Pride is at work here.

I see the modernist church, and its deliberately heading for the evil of Marxism, as little more than foolishly believing they can evenly divide that biblical thirty pieces of silver to care for the world.

The last Ice Age (glacial period) ended about 18,000 years ago and completely without human intervention. The next one will follow the same pattern as it has for over 500,000 years.

Evil and/or stupid is as evil and/or stupid does. No surprises here. Pray for his repentance and conversion of heart.

“If we consider that emissions per individual in the United States are about two times greater than those of individuals living in China,…(etc)”

Uh-huh, that must’ve been one solid scientific research study that concocted that conclusion.

Agree with all others here. By the way, I’m still waiting for a single climate alarmist to produce actual evidence that carbon dioxide in the atmosphere is a “pollutant.” 🦗🦗🦗
