PopeWatch: Scott Hahn

It’s strange to me.
If Pope Francis would of responded to the Doubia the tug of war that is going on might not be so strenuous, but his failure to respond was seen by some as an admission of wordsmithing.
Here’s a piece jabbing Scott Hahn;

Act of ‘Justice and Charity’
In their Nov. 14 statement, the four Church leaders stress they are above all acting out of “justice and charity” — justice because they profess through the dubia the Petrine ministry of unity and confirming the faith; and charity because they want to “help the Pope to prevent divisions and conflicts in the Church, asking him to dispel all ambiguity.”
From an old article in the Catholic Register.
Ambiguous utterings create division.
Hat’s off to the four Cardinal’s for trying.
God be with the deceased Cardinal.
May he help Francis to clarity.
Actually, Philip, two of the “Dubia Cardinals” have passed through the Veil: Cd. Carlos Cafarra and Cd. Joachim Meisner. Requiescant in pace.
Thank you Frank.
I didn’t realize that.
I take great comfort that Christ’s church will withstand all of Satan’s attacks.
All.
Doesn’t mean that we stop praying or stop our offerings…but no one will bring the Bride to ruin.

Scott and Kimberly Hahn were the ones who explained the Catholic teaching on contraception to me (via an audio cassette tape I had purchased many moons ago).
Whatever his other beliefs, I will always be grateful for that, and that he/they felt called to shared them. It set DH and I up for a good marriage.
Scott Hahn is genuinely one of the least likely guys to criticize the hierarchy. When even people like him are starting to question what’s going on in Rome, maaaaaaaaybe it’s time for the people behind “Where Peter Is” to question the goings on in Rome.
Just kidding, it means they have to go after Scott Hahn.
If Hahn is criticising the Pope (or supporting those critical of the Pope) it would likely come from a place of logic and reason. He is a theologian. He does logic and reason for a living.
Not because of his own personal dislike. He does not look to gain anything by doing so.
I just wish this Pope exercised some self reflection and asked himself why Catholics would be criticising his lack of leadership when it comes to teaching the truth, in favour of his personal grievances rather than being defensive and coaxing others to be defensive. Nobody is above criticism except God and His Holy Mother. “And that’s a fact”. (as my teenager would say).
Ezabelle, please consider my “upvote” to be multiplied tenfold.
