You’d think they’d have the prudence and integrity to excavate the site and then compare what they found to documentary records and public health data. However, we live at a time when the chatterati have neither prudence nor integrity.
It doesn’t take that long to plan an archaeological dig. There’s a reason one hasn’t been done in Kamloops.

Thank you for linking to the NY Post article from yesterday. (8/31/23) I had read it, and the general media wants to play ostrich on this outrage.
The fact that the excavations of one of the key, very specific sites, the basement of Our Lady of Sorrows Church at the Pine Creek Mission in Manitoba, claimed by the alleged tribal witnesses to be one of the “occult mass grave burials of the ‘disappeared’” had ZERO evidence of child burials, itself should be an occasion for a public apology. Right, never gonna happen.
The Kamloops site, one of the other main alleged “mass grave sites,” which had ground radar “anomalies” has been refused further forensic investigation. It was Chief Rosann Casimir of the Tk’emlups te Secwepemc First Nation who baldly asserted in May, 2021 that “215 mass grave burials of children” had been found by ground penetrating radar. Subsequent efforts to find any human remains have produced, yes, ZERO. Other now-grown up Native American witnesses from that particular tribal school said that this area of the alleged anomalies was the site of an old orchard, and perhaps the differential radar results are just in fact the old, rotten subterranean stumps detritus.
But wait, let’s not think and consider something so boring as rotting stumps from sn old orchard: No, it’s Catholic priests and nuns assaulting Native American children, murdering them, and dumping them in “mass graves.” No, we are not hysterical nut cases, we are noble First Nationers (and move over, there’s plenty of room for CNB, the New York Times, and other media types, which have never issued a retraction. The Washington post actually has at least partially corrected their reporting.)
I get so mad at this pack of lies.

He is under the weight of the current pontificate but his reasoning is sound, clear and filled with HOPE. There was zero reason for the Vatican to bow to fake news as they did. Muddy Waters is a talented musician but when it comes to the faithful, we need and deserve clear, life giving waters. Bishop Strickland is warning the flock to steer away from waters that are contrary to Christ’s spring.
The pontificate is sloppy.
The warning is valid.
