I think we are getting perilously close to Civil War II by these Banana Republic tactics. They have to destroy the rule of law and democracy in order to save them from Orange Man Bad. I never predicted that in my old age I would live to see a repeat of the War that started 96 years before I was born.

I think it’s time we put it on our ballots
We need a national divorce. But I can’t think of any way it can happen without violence. God help us. The Founders were right, the Republic cannot survive without virtuous leaders and citizens. We no longer have a critical mass of virtuous people at the leadership level in either party. I am fairly sure we don’t have it in the citizenry, either. I hope to be proven wrong. I’m too old for combat.
There was a quote I read during lockdown , I think from WWI that said, when you’re going through hell, the only thing you can do is keep on going. 2024 elections could very well be the match that lights the powder keg we are living in. While I do so miss the good ole days of pre 2020 this turmoil and trouble has brought me in closer to focusing on “the long game” of eternity in a whole new way and deepened my faith to a whole new level for which I am eternally grateful.
At this point it seems devotion to our Lady may be the only hope we can ask for in these troubled times.

The last several years have seen the public health trade discredit itself completely, large swaths of the medical profession discredit themselves completely, the mental health trade add another item to the bill of particulars against it (they were already discredited), the educational apparat add more items to the bill of particulars against it, about 1/2 the judiciary (and an indeterminate share of prosecutors) demonstrate that the advancement of justice requires their disbarment, the major media (including tech companies) demonstrate that they are willing handmaidens of the security state as long as the security state is working for the Democratic Party. Also, much of the general officer corps are bureaucratic twits and nothing more. The President and his family have been revealed to be purveyors of Brobingnagian corruption. About 1/2 your neighbors and 1/2 your family members are just fine with this.
