Stassen was a liberal Republican wunderkind who turned into a clown around age 50. Unlike Christie, I don’t think there was anything particularly unpleasant about the man, just an odd loss of self-awareness in middle age.
And Ron DeSantis is becoming the Scott Walker of 2024, to put it euphemistically.
