As young people from around the world prepare for World Youth Day, they are pilgrims towards an ecologically and economically sustainable event. #LadautoSi #Ecology #FratelliTutti #PopeFrancis #ofmca #WYD #Lisbon https://t.co/J1Ovezf1C7

A new religion wearing the mask of Catholicism.
How about this quote, “The ultimate return at World Youth Day will be something one can’t put a price on: young Catholics having an encounter with Pope Francis — and with Jesus Christ.”
Christ is listed as an afterthought or a bonus.

Yeah, don’t need anymore reasons not to go.
I noticed that w the force of the green agenda, polluters are getting off if they have enough carbon credits to offset their trash.
But they are trying to blame the aggressive of sharks on cocaine when it could be waste flowing in to oceans.
It seems to be getting worse under this green umbrella
Secular. Atheist. Religion.
… And the first item on the agenda? Recruit the youth.
I thought proselytism was frowned upon in this pontificate?
Responding to JFK:
“Jesus? Jesus who? Oh yeah, that guy. Didn’t we mention him on page 66 of our latest encyclical?”
If Francis wants me to give any thought to my carbon footprint, he’ll limit his travel to visits to churches in the diocese of which he is supposedly the ordinary. I’m not aware of any pope prior to Paul vi who thought it advisable to be rocketing around the world.
My biggest issue with the green religion is not its worldliness but its lack of Faith.
It’s especially painful to see this pope and his cabal pushing green religion.
Don’t assume the youth are stupid. My daughter is there. She is not stupid. Nor are the youth travelling with her. Nor are the local parishes sending youth there. Nor ware the Maronites who are sending youth there. They are all going for Jesus.
Just taking a break from this blog for a while. The negativity is getting to me. Peace.
Hurry back Ezabelle. I always look forward to reading your comments.
Two thoughts:
The moment the people who hector everyone about their travel stop flying anywhere and only utilize non-carbon emitting modes of transportation (which would I guess would also preclude any mode that involved breathing…) is the moment I will believe they take any of this seriously.
The exhortation to abstain from meat isn’t per se a bad one, and it just so happens that there is a backwardist Catholic tradition of not eating meat on certain days and even throughout the span of specific seasons. I didn’t realize that WYD was going full RTC.
In all seriousness, the sad thing is that things like fasting, abstaining, moderating consumption, etc., are all things that have a place in Catholic life and have been utilized throughout its history for the end of penance, rooting out sins, growing in virtue, etc.
What’s diabolical is these very things are now being used in service of an ersatz religion in which the sin to be expiated is not committed against God but against the earth, the faults to be rooted out are not personal faults but non-compliance with The Science(TM), and the virtue to be developed is by means of the proxy of signaling one’s subservience to the Green State. They even have their own indulgences where if you bully and shame others into compliance or (even better!) identify scapegoats to be punished, you can remit your own responsibility to behave as you demand.
How’s that indulgence rhyme go? “As soon as the tweet on X goes ding, John Kerry on his private jet takes wing.”
Where your treasure is, there your heart is also.
Just another helpful reminder that when a man tells you who he is, listen to him.
Prayers for your daughter, Ezabelle. In spite of some, I pray she has a holy experience and draws deeper to our Lord
Why waste time and money going there when there are holy places and faithful events nearby?
I know where I’d like to put my carbon footprint.
TGIF.
Greens, including Catholic hierarchy are scientifically ignorant and, what’s worse, irrational and not to be educated. That’s the problem–reason and facts won’t work in arguments.
They may be going there for Jesus, but Jesus isn’t what they’re going to get. Ersatz Jesus at best.

“must not eat meat” Jesus ate meat.
Jesus redeemed the whole creation and presented creation back to His Father in heaven. Green belongs to God.
Jesus is in every human being, every church.
