Agree Philip- Confession (regular confession) and Rachel’s Vineyard. Catholic spiritual guidance from a good priest is important. I hope she realises that her remorse will save her soul. Only the Faith will heal her.
When you realize that the sinful things the world serves up as delicacies actually taste “grey” then you are on the first steps of a journey. I remember that moment well. (Not the same sin, but the same bleak greyness)
I pray God will never let me forget that moment.
The prodigal son (or daughter) has to turn to the Father before He runs to embrace him (or her). God will not force our will, but stands ready and patient.
