When Did LifeSite News Go Nuts?
Donald R. McClarey
Cradle Catholic. Active in the pro-life movement since 1973. Father of three, one in Heaven, and happily married for 41 years. Small town lawyer and amateur historian. Former president of the board of directors of the local crisis pregnancy center for a decade.
Well, we have been through three plus years of insanity–I just read that supposedly SV40 DNA (a contaminant) was found in the bivalent so-called vaccine.
.
I am not sure why an impostor would have been put in her place though. And I rather doubt an “impostor” is going to get past St. Peter.
.
It’s like the ones who do this have never been around old people and how unkind aging can be.
Your nose grows. Your ears grow and sag. If you lose your teeth and get dentures, your jawline can even change. Your eye color fades. Your feet grow.
We live in a tabloid age. I recall when the very popular among the Catholic left Rebecca Weiss floated the not so subtle theory that the Fatima story was a conspiracy put together for use by fascist regimes. Personally I wish everyone would go back through sanity class.

There were no fascist regimes in 1917. There were no authoritarian regimes in Europe with a specifically Catholic orientation until 1932.
Rebecca Weiss has never allowed mere facts to stand before her and a conclusion she wishes to reach.

Ah, the Fatimists. Perhaps holding out hope that we may yet get a divine bailout from the mess we’ve put ourselves in, they claim:
-That the consecration requested by Our Lady has not yet been done (even though it was done in 1984).
-Consequently, that the conversion of Russia has not happened (they are apparently expecting a Catholic confessional state, and not merely the renunciation of the USSR’s atheism that we got) and the brief period of peace promised has yet to come (the post-USSR ’90s don’t count).
-For good measure, that the “Third Secret” of Fatima revealed by the Vatican in 2000 is a fake (because the ACTUAL Third Secret deals with Freemasonry and corruption in the Church, which they want to keep under cover).
Since Sr. Lucia vouched for each of these while she was still alive, the Fatimists have to do something about her, as well. Hence, the imposter theory.
As to how LSN got infected by this insanity? At a guess, through Archbishop Vigano. He’s been arguing the Fatimists’ party line for several years, now.
I’m at the point where I don’t know how this is lunacy. I mean we were told so many things from the Vatican we found were lies over the last few decades I don’t find almost anything preposterous. Look up Bernadino Nogara and look at what Pius XI hired him for and what he invested in. Tell me afterwards you’d be shocked if this was true. There are 500 other examples.
I’m at the point where I don’t know how this is lunacy.
Because there is zero evidence to support it. Contentions without evidence are worthless and crazy.
Quite a while ago. Catholic Truth has done two articles on this problem: https://catholictruthscotland.com/2023/04/09/lifesitenews-fake-catholic-media-pushing-false-apparitions-in-defiance-of-church-authorities/ and https://catholictruthscotland.com/2023/01/25/beware-lifesitenews-itching-ears-st-paul/
The impostor Lucia theory…sigh.
Look, I get that conspiracy theories grow in the fertile soil of corrupt institutions which have forfeited their entitlement to trust. But go with something marginally plausible, dudes.
Look, there is only just ONE way to deal with this. LifeSiteNews recently put out a ‘Red Alert’ for finances. Email them and tell them that you will no longer financially donate until they get back to solely dealing with pro-life / pro-family / pro-marriage issues, and when they stop promoting conspiracy theories, and false or dubious ‘seers’ and ‘apparitions’ which seems to be their main concern these days. I think this is the fault of John-Henry Westen. He should resign. LIfeSiteNews has lost its way under his leadership.
This is equivalent to “no enemies to the left”. I used to sometimes listen to Coast to Coast AM, an all-night crazy conspiracy radio show, and when people reach the point that they don’t believe the authorities, they have no reason to disbelieve anything except what the authorities say. So it becomes “nothing ruled out for being too absurd”.
John — thanks for posting the Catholic Truth Scotland articles. There’s also some VERY interesting information at that site regarding the Garabandal “seers” (who seem to have some things in common with the alleged Medjugorje seers) and alleged prophecies of Padre Pio that I hadn’t previously known.
I think the alien abduction theory is still credible.
CAG – LOL!!!! It’s about as credible as most of the junk coming from LifeSiteNews these days.
