PopeWatch: Strickland
Donald R. McClarey
Cradle Catholic. Active in the pro-life movement since 1973. Father of three, one in Heaven, and happily married for 41 years. Small town lawyer and amateur historian. Former president of the board of directors of the local crisis pregnancy center for a decade.
When one priest said they didn’t really ask about anything but focused on who would be a good replacement tells a lot.
If a Bishop can be disposed for going against their love of Covid vaccines, then one surely would be for adhering to faith.
🙏🏻
Someone in comments said Bishops shouldn’t criticize popes but they are brothers and the exact ones who criticize each other.
[ my imagination ]
Vatican official to Bishop Strickland; “Truth, you say! What is truth.”
Bishop Strickland’s reply; “Exactly.”
Rosary going up for the good Bishop.
Bishop Strickland is being fitted with proper attire for the wedding feast of the Lamb.
Many have been called…..but few are chosen.
“Show me the good Bishop, I’ll show you the reasons for dismissal.”
Once a Peronist….

“If I have administered wrongly, show me where. If not, why do you strike me?”
You’re a successor of an apostle. Continue to stand like one.
Would that a million or two letters reach Rome immediately saying that if you lay one finger on this good man, no more $$$$$ for Rome or the USCCB.
@Don:
.
I imagine the folks who like B. Strickland probably already said “No thanks” to the Peter’s Pence collection. I doubt they would write a check to the USCCB. I don’t think I have ever given money directly to them. I have not written a check yet to my diocese. Not sure I will.

Fauci accepted job as professor at Georgetown
Fauci’s been a federal employee since he was 32 years old or thereabouts. His residency accounts for most of his years as a working physician. See Dr. Atlas account on the conduct of Fauci, Birx, and Redfield: they took no interest in studies, couldn’t be bothered to discuss them in meetings. In addition to not treating patients, it’s a reasonable wager he’s hasn’t done any hands-on research in nearly 40 years.
“[Fauci accepted job as professor at Georgetown. The president said he embodies the Jesuit value. How about that]”
Was he the president of Georgetown who covered over the crucifix fo Obama?
and
Pope Francis is having a visitation of Bishop Strickland for trying to prevent the scadalization of innocent little children. Bishop Strickland has worked tirelessly to prevent the Sisters of Perpetual Indulgence from having a millstone tied about their necks and being drowned in the depths of the river for having scandalized the innocent little children.
Surely Pope Francis realizes that the scandalization of innocent little children carries the very heavy burden of death of the scandal’s soul in the depth of the river with a millstone about the neck or it would have been better if they had not been born, that is, procreated.
Transgenderism is an untruth as XX and XY chromosomes do not and cannot be changed… yet.
The soul of the person whole at creation forms the body of the person. Transgendering changes the body but denies the human being’s immortal, rational soul. Without acknowledging the human being’s immortal, rational soul, the human being becomes a chattel, slave or a lower animal to be enslaved, culled, propagated at another individual’s will while having one’s own will denied.

I have mixed feelings about this. While I think bishops publicly speaking out against the scandal that is Francis’ pontificate is long overdue, Bishop Strickland went about it in the wrong way. In his capacity as Bishop of Tyler, it would have been much better if he issued a pastoral letter explaining how calling out such a scandal would not be disobedient or disrespectful of the papal office, ala Paul to Peter. He has a list examples from here to eternity at his disposal to point out to make his case. Of course, this wouldn’t have prevented the Bergoglian Goon Squad in the Vatican from exacting their pound of flesh, but it would have been a far more clear and methodical, not to mention far less confusing, way to go about it.
Why didn’t he go this route as opposed to taking to Twitter the way he did? With the pastoral letter approach, he could have used social media to call attention to it and urge his brother bishops to do likewise. At the very least I suspect he did what he did because he wants to be seen as something of a pop star among the many orthodox Catholics who, while having a legitimate desire for courageous leadership, are far too gullible and vulnerable to grifters, to wit guys like Taylor Marshall. There’s a difference between wanting to LOOK LIKE an Athanasius and BEING an Athanasius.
This is the same Bishop Strickland who tweeted his support for Bp. Seitz’s uses of children as political props in defense of the criminal enterprise of illegal immigration, in protest of Trump Administration policies.

Given that Strickland is a bishop in a border state, it’s that much worse.
And his support for Abp. Cordileone’s dishonest article in America Magazine about the death penalty.

Strickland is correct about Pope Francis’ undermining Church teaching, but he engages in that too.
At least Stika is out now … That’s something. I suppose they didn’t want it to look too one-sided.
