We got an email from our parish about donating, but I’m not planning on writing a check.

Oh, I suppose I could give one dime. That might actually be the sensible thing to do. Or maybe two pennies. That lets “them” know you did not simply forget to write the check.

The day after there is a full independent accounting of every nickel spent from the Peter’s Pence collections for, say, the past ten years, is the day I will consider giving to that cause again.
Frank, I’m with you 100% on that.
Maybe we need posters saying “Do you trust this man with your money?”
Or at least say it, to at least one other person.
