I can’t understand why the youth are flocking to the traditional Mass! Said no one paying attention. They should move their Blockhead art behind the altar and it would sum it all up.
I have a pet theory about the trend toward ugliness that the Jesuits’ “renovation” exemplifies. My theory is that it is rooted, as most such trends are, in a heresy, one that takes an element of the truth and distorts it.
In this case, the truth that “even Satan masquerades as an angel of light” (2 Cor 11:14) is distorted into: “EVERY angel of light is Satan in disguise.”
And away we go. Beauty is always a lie. Truth is found only in ugliness. The more repulsive something is, the closer to the truth it comes.
This theory goes a long way, I think, in explaining the horrific vandalism that has afflicted the Church (and civilization at large) over the past half century-plus.

I agree with your assessment.
A sad lot…both the one’s who recommended and approved this change, as well as the so-called altar itself. Sad and devoid of God’s gifts to humanity…especially the ultimate gift of His Son. What is lacking in inspiration and glorious offering, is made 1,000 fold in darkness and depression.
The area looks fitting for a future black Mass.
A hall where Satan reigns.
Who’s relics are preserved under the altar….Judas Iscariot?
You can’t make the crucifix into an abstract. That’s what they are trying to do with this attempt. It ends up looking industrial and brutal.
Wow. Words fail me. And the consecrated High Altar gathers cobwebs in the background. We need a new St. Francis of Assisi to “rebuild My Church.” Or maybe he can show up himself to help expiate the insult to his name represented by a certain Argentinian pope.
Could this be called neo-iconoclast?
The online America Magazine has a full article entitled: “ Catholic Pride month events face increasing backlash.”
Ugliness indeed.
Is that the One Ring above the cross, holding it like a puppet on a string🤔
Ugh. It’s hard to tell from Don’s picture, but the altar, lectern, and priest’s priest’s chair are just plopped on what look like rings of wood.
This church is – I should say was – one of the great works of the Counter-Reformation. This is heartbreaking.

I see a wolf with horns in the right side of the dark marble altar. Cant quite tell if there is a figure other left side. The gold bolt separating the altar into two parts seems odd. As seen in the link above on the Gesu renovation. Yup perfect for a black mass.
