The fact that this was not on his schedule would indicate that there was a precipitating factor that triggered these tests. Of course expecting the Vatican to be transparent about a pope’s health is like expecting chocolate milk from a brown cow.

A hernia surgery, or so we are being told.
I have been advised by a long-time Vatican-watcher that the Comms office, some fine people aside, is a perfect alloy of incompetence and arrogance.
And that’s two hospitalizations in a month. Prayers.
At his age it’s not surprising. It’s being reported as a Laparotomy or surgery for a Hernia. Prayers.
