Thought For The Day

I agree with CS Lewis that the Devil spends more time trying to keep good thoughts out, than putting bad thoughts in.  I sometimes suspect that my chief sin is wasting so much of the time God has granted me.

Somebody told me recently that we are prone to be negative and default to negative thinking stemming back to the pre-historic ages where we had to survive as humans with the basic toll we had at our disposal. Fast forward modern times and we as humans have evolved intellectually and emotionally with less emphasis on physical threats and more vigilance to how our mind can help us or hinder us.

It takes effort to be optimistic and positive and it’s actually a learned skill. It’s also a skill we must be consciously utilise. I think the devil always has us thinking the worst. Think hopeful and be positive and solutions driven. The devil hates this. God is hope.
