The Blue Collar Billionaire

As faithful readers of this blog know, Trump often maddens me.  But no politician since Reagan connects with blue collar voters better than Trump, and that is his great strength as a politician.  Trump at his best on the campaign road.  Too many politicians look as if they had been assembled by a committee, all spark and originality removed from them.  Trump is sui generis, red blooded and authentic.

Regardless of what Trump does from now on, I decided I am done with him and will not vote for Trump agsin.
I am tired of his childish insults at DeSantis.
Trump’s PAC took $20M from Disney and he tore into DeSantis for fighting Disney.
DonJunior said to stop boycotting Anheuser Busch.
Trump ran his big mouth praising Putin when DeSantus called Russia a gas station with nukes. I have much worse words for Putin.
Trump told DeSantis on his Truth Social site to stsy out of the presidential race…as if Trump is owed it.
Finally, Trump should have fired Fauci on January 20, 2017.
Fauci is a deep state swamp creature Trump promised to getbtid of but did not.
I have had enough of geriatric politicians.

“Trump is sui generis, red blooded and authentic.“

And as full of crap as any run of the mill politician at the same time. However, DeSantis supporters writing Trump’s obituary are living in a great world and will soon realize why fairy tales are called fairy tales.

Media and establishment reaction and law-flailing at Trump suggest they are still frightened of him; and none of their guys could pull a stunt like handing out pizza and look remotely authentic. Of course DeSantis, if he keeps up his steady, smart (so far) fight against woke could look authentic in a different way. Wellington would never have grabbed a flag and led his men into cannon fire as Napoleon did, but he beat Napoleon by prudently adapting his own tactics. Trump’s people better not write off Ron either.

Biden has a 36% approval rating. Disantis and Trump don’t have a a chance.

Trump was right about everything. Everything was better when Trump was President. And that ‘better’ includes when Bush, Clinton, Bush, and Obama were in office.

The establishment RINOs backing Desantis are Desantis’ major problem for me.

Of course, I’d vote for Desantis just like I voted McCain and Romney. And the outcome will be the same. They only need to create 50,000 bogus votes in each of the five or six swing states.

“The establishment RINOs backing Desantis are Desantis’ major problem for me.“

They’re not backing DeSantis because they like him. Just the opposite. I think they understand that combined with a Trump sabotage campaign should DeSantis win the nomination would not only hand the White House to the dems (something they see as preferable to a non RINO republican), but hurt DeSantis’ future chances, perhaps mortally.

The RINOs are a sick bunch.

*Biden has a 36% approval rating.

I just cannot comprehend how that is even possible? How can a projected 36% of the population of the United States of America approve of a senile, blabbering crook? What are they on? How stupid can people be?!

Seems that plenty of our Church hierarchy are yellow dog Dems. Cupich comes to mind. As as well as consecrated clergy and lay persons who were brought up in working class families who felt an obligation to vote Democratic. Even though the Dem party platforms advocated sins against God’s laws.

The yellow dog Dems have a mind virus.
Trump does appeal to working class bc he helped us the most.
That said, it’s insane how he still hold same view on the jab.

Thanks Don. I get the type- a yellow dog would make more sense than Joe Biden. He shouldn’t be there if he has dementia. The corruption of that Party must be off the wall.

Cam- you are describing our Labor voters to a tee (once the Party of staunch Catholics and the working class). It’s now the Party of the left and pro-aborts and they can’t manage the nations balance sheet. Yet they have due-hard voters. Every state of ours is now Labor run, as is the PM. And I don’t get that either. Makes you want to live away, “off the grid” tell things get back to normal.

The dems have a better method of getting their program out, never mind that they lie about it. The Republicans seem to think all they have to do is put out a position paper and the voters will be smart enough to support it. Life doesn’t work that way and unless they can rerun Trump’s package with a more attractive delivery, they will lose again.

Contrast this bit of showmanship with the meltdowns certain nobodies are having over the loss of their blue checkmarks.

Either Trump or DeSantis would be a far better president than Joetato, but all their constant sniping at each other is going to do is guarantee 4 more years of Joetato, Kamala or whoever replaces them. I will still vote but I have no confidence that either Trump or DeSantis can win at this point.

I have read in comboxes, but nowhere else, that DeSantis is owned by the Establishment. He has not governed thst way and I want someone to provide some proof.

Most people do. The reality is the vax injured–at least the ones that can be proven–are a tiny minority. Most folks I know are vax’d, many even boosted at least once, and maybe twice, and they are “just fine”.
.
I have two vax’d children. One is boosted. I begged him not to get another. He says he will “follow the science” on that. I expect he will get boosted again within the next year along with his wife. They are both in the medical community, and the medical community is very positive on all manner of vaccines and drugs.

Ron DeSantis just signed one of the most restrictive abortion bans in the country, one of the few that has actual teeth. Meanwhile Trump has already started reverting to his pre-Republican days by ditching the pro-life movement and blaming us for electoral defeats he is largely responsible for. I guess it must make me part of the Establishment for preferring the doer who wins re-election by 20% over the man whose principles are out to bid to the group that can kiss his arse the most. https://www.firstthings.com/web-exclusives/2023/04/trump-pivots-on-abortion?fbclid=IwAR3YLbc1Y1EnpZPdd5Dgwrpyl_cJgBjeMk0UeXgV8UIyrmoZoBhgtdWn2VU
