Every four years they open up the deacon program. I thought my husband should apply. Then I remembered the vaccine mandates. He can stick to altar serving.
.
Our priest harangues (yes, harangues) to promote the priesthood. We certainly do need priests. But as it appears bishops can mandate medical treatments–even experimental ones–that makes it nearly impossible for me to ever promote (that, and the seminaries are still in rough shape).

Milan is an affluent part of Italy. Quite pretentious in comparison to other parts of Italy (particularly the South). Well-off and the hub of high-end materialism. I’m not surprised the vocations are low in Milan.

The vocations are flowing from Africa. I was skeptical at first upon their arrival, I’m ashamed to admit, however Our Parish priest is from Tanzania, his 2 x assistants are from Nigeria. They’re very good. The Masses are full.

i once was invited to give a Lenten talk and I chose “the Church’s role in suffering” as the topic I wished to cover. The (visiting) enlightened pastor went bonkers saying, if you talk about suffering, they’ll walk out. He hardly realized that without the church’s take on suffering, (the cross) they’d have no need to come in the first place

Support a seminarian.
I don’t mean the impersonal collection on a given Sunday, though that’s also essential. I mean through encouragement and prayer. Every diocese I know of has a photo of the men in seminary. Pray for them, by name. I cannot imagine the strain from spiritual warfare and organizational incompetence.

I guess I missed my connective point on my earlier comment. It isn’t the weak seminaries that are causing the shortage of priests, but the broader Church’s failure to make the faith immediately essential, in lieu of the rampant and open diabolical goings on, while the masses seek secular political answers and the youngsters are choosing dogs for “family’ instead of babies, as they fret over climate change. The speed with which they shut down the Holy Mass for the Covid games didn’t help solidify the importance of the faith and the beauty of the priesthood.

Jesus Christ is the Son of God. Jesus Christ is True God and True Man. Catholic teaching on who a true man is is based on the living revelation of who God is through the life and instruction given to us by Jesus Christ. When Pope Francis reaches the life of Christ in his teaching, Pope Francis will be teaching the Catholic Faith.
Until then heresy be damned.

Who is a woman? The woman from heaven is our model; the handmaid of the Lord, God.
Until then heresy be damned.
