The Feds Are Coming For You

The FBI used an undercover employee to inform its leaked analysis on domestic extremism among Catholic Americans, House Judiciary Committee Republican Ohio Rep. Jim Jordan revealed in a letter addressed to FBI Director Christopher Wray.

The House Judiciary Committee issued a subpoena to Wray on Monday requesting records relating to its probe into the FBI’s “domestic violent extremism investigations against Catholic Americans,” CBS News reported. The investigation was initiated after the leak of a Jan. 23 FBI Richmond Field Office memo suggesting Roman Catholic groups who prefer the Latin mass are at risk of “anti-Semitic, anti-immigrant, anti-LGBTQ and white supremacist ideology.”

Jordan said requests were made for additional information and documents on Feb. 16 and March 20. On March 23, the FBI provided a “substandard and partial” 18-page response, which revealed the FBI relied on “at least one undercover agent” when producing the Jan. 23 document.

“Based on the limited information produced by the FBI to the Committee, we now know that the FBI relied on at least one undercover agent to produce its analysis, and that the FBI proposed that its agents engage in outreach to Catholic parishes to develop sources among the clergy and church leadership to inform on Americans practicing their faith,” the letter says.

Documents produced by the FBI reportedly show it desired “to sensitize the congregation to the warning signs of radicalization and enlist their assistance to serve as suspicious activity tripwires,” according to the letter.

This information reinforced the Committee’s need for “all FBI material responsive” to its request without redactions, the letter continued.

The subpoena was issued in response to Wray’s alleged “disregard” for the Committee’s voluntary requests.

The FBI confirmed to the Daily Caller News Foundation that it received the subpoena and is working to respond to the records requests.

Go here to read the rest.  This is precisely how the old Soviet Union treated churches:  honeycomb them with informants and spys.  Get them to inform on each other.  Control and rule them.  That all this violates First Amendment freedom or religion matters not a whit to the FBI.

Rod Sterling material.
Unfortunately for US it’s not an episode of Twilight Zone.

This administration is not going to gut the FBI. Why would they? They are feeding and caring for the attack dog.

I’m sure Garland will deny that he ever knew of such business…but he’ll assure us that everything is in perfect working order and Catholic Americans have nothing to fear from the ghost in the machine.

“ anti-Semitic, anti-immigrant, anti-LGBTQ and white supremacist ideology.”
😂
IOW, free speech?
If you were raised w classical Catholic education, I do see how you could pose a problem bc you are most likely to question things and know history- good and bad.

I want our border secure. I think the ADL brings most of their problems on they respond to criticism they don’t like. We are supposed to love our enemies- including Hitler and now I guess the FBI too. God created male and female. I believe that sexual iz ing young kids is child abuse (trans movement). I also believe that CRT and DEI is racist. I also believe it has encouraged more violence toward white people.
I believe the FBI is behind some of this.
There. Did I hit them all?

“Developing sources among clergy and Church leadership…” This may explain why the FBI document’s view of Traditional Catholics sounds so much like chancery stereotypes of them.

And rightly so DJH. In my neck of the woods, intelligence agencies were paying spies to monitor sheikhs who were radicalising Muslim youths to carry out Jihadi suicide attacks on civilians. In comparison to a Muslim radical, a Christian “radical” biggest threat to civilians is standing outside an abortion clinic praying the Rosary or walking in a March for Life.

Until they get fed-up and give the activists a taste of their own medecine:
A couple of Maronite Christian men recently got arrested after a clash against transgender activists outside Cardinal Pell’s funeral and when a political campaigner was invited to talk at a Parish school. They called the gay activists “faggots” and got a little rough when the activists desecrated a crucifix and blocked people from entering the a church to pray. The activists were not arrested even though they invaded private property of Church grounds and incited the trouble. This article from a Greek community newspaper was the only one I could find which tells the truth. The rest of the MSM portrayed the event as Christians causing the trouble. On the grounds of their Church, by uninvited trouble makers. Figure that one out if you can.

Poor FBI informants. Even veiled behind clown priests, gay priests, apostate priests and (perhaps worst) apathetic priests, Christ himself is present. Hazardous duty indeed for those wishing to stay away from Him at all costs. Way too many hagiographies begin, “X was no friend of the Church…” St Paul, pray for them. St Stephen pray for us.
