TR, the One and Only

A man would have to hate him a lot, not to like him a little.

Supposedly said by one of Roosevelt’s bitterest foes.

 

 

They don’t make men like Colonel Roosevelt any more and that is a great pity.

TR was the real deal and his own best PR man.

It’s a minor miracle he didn’t get himself killed in Cuba. He led from the front and insisted on riding up San Juan Hill making himself the prime target for 600 or so Spanish regulars.

Humor. A Mr. Darby was a humorous commentator during the day. He wrote that the subtitle to TR’s book on the War in Cuba should have been, “Alone in Cuba.”

A young man could do a lot worse than patterning his life after TR’s.

His son TR, Jr. was a hero [assistant division CO] in WWII and died of heart failure shortly after landing on D-Day.

Today they are succeeded by the Bidens, Clintons, Schumers, et al.

None of us is perfect.

The Americn Eagle is the symbol of the swiftness of God’s Justice. The eagle is the symbol for Saint John the Evangelist. Saint John the Evangelist tells people who they are in relationship to God.
Corbinian’s bear, Benedict XVI’s is a symbol of service, obedience and humility.
Grizzly bears are strong animals capable of killing a man with one blow of their powerful paws. A stuffed grizzly bear in the Smithsonian is a sight to see if they let you in with your pro-life sweatshirt.
Teddy Roosevelt would not be held by the asthma he suffered. Teddy Roosevelt for whom the Teddy bear was named was a great man.
