Franciscan superior of the Italian branch called the FranciscanAlcantarines. Born Carlo Gaetano Calosirto on Ischia Island in 1654 , he was ordained in 1677. John served his order but was revered as a mystic and prophet. He died in Naples on March 1. John-Joseph was canonized in 1839.
