When you consider that countries ruled by the most brutal despots are often called “Democratic Republic of..” or “People’s Republic of…”, it only stands to reason a despotic pope is going to is going to couch his despotism in terms “decentralization” or similar claptrap.

Who would ever thought they’d see the day when one of the greatest threats to religious liberty for Catholics would come from the pope himself?

“repressive tolerance” – anything from the left permitted, anything from the right repressed. He’s a good Herbert Marcuse follower.

Which isn’t surprising when you learn that Francis and Claus Schwab both had the same mentor.

China and North Korea fit that description. The other countries which put ‘democratic’, ‘people’s, or ‘socialist’ in their name are all over the map.

Dom Hélder Câmara is the name of the mentor I was looking for.

Learning in particular, while Klaus Schwab of the World Economic Forum does not directly praise Paulo Freire (to my knowledge), the World Economic Forum itself has published essays on their website (now removed!) that claimed that the best way to teach is the Freirean method. Furthermore, a mentor of Freire, the so-called “Red Bishop” of Recife, Brazil, Dom Hélder Câmara, is recognized by Schwab as his “spiritual leader.” Schwab had Câmara speak at the fourth annual meeting (in 1974) of the European Management Forum, which was later renamed the World Economic Forum, despite it being against the law in Switzerland at the time to allow a Communist to speak. His message was about learning to see the world from the standpoint of the poor, oppressed in their favelas (slums).
