I am of two minds about this. The evidence that there are UFOs is overwhelming. They may be extraterrestrial, but if our government knows about it, it is incredible that the secret could be kept for almost eight decades as our government has always leaked like a sieve. I suspect we will all be finding out in the near future.

Categories are important LQC. Just because a man is wrong or right in one area does not carry over into other areas. I know quite a bit about Illinois law and most history. That does not translate into my opinions on plumbing have any validity. A saint may be right in his religious views, but that does not give him automatic validity as to the best way to bring down inflation.
There are plenty of good places on the internet to get solid scientific information about intelligent life elsewhere in the universe besides undisclosed aircraft identities in US Military reports, and speculation by a disgruntled and disenchanted former Catholic apologist now turned into apostate atheist skeptic. I can understand why atheists or agnostics would assume the possibility of UFO’s as an indicator of alien life forms. But people of faith, I would think, could consider another possibility. Angels of God manifesting their presence in visible form. Wouldn’t that be at least as plausible an explanation as alien life from other galaxies?
The recent leaks look faker to me than the UFOs themselves.
By this I mean that there is nothing we have seen in recent bits of “disclosure” about UFOs that is more impressive than videos, witness testimony etc. that we’ve had in the decades leading up to this point (including many provided from government/military employees, unofficially of course.) But now the narrative from both the government and the media complex is obviously shifting to “ufos are real and they are piloted by aliens,” even though the quality of the evidence has not changed. Looks pretty obviously like a distraction to me.
As for the UFOs themselves, I think that they are real but see no reason to believe that they are piloted by aliens. The only evidence for that is accounts of the occupants making such claims, but if anything is clear about this phenomenon it’s that the beings behind it are liars. The inhabitants being demons is much more plausible.
Well, I still need to see their faces and touch them to believe them (I’m doubting Thomas). Given the curren regimes proliferation of lies and propaganda, everything would have to be verified.

Perhaps. but in the Old and New Testament angels had a specific mission to perform. Why angels would adopt a mechanical guise escapes me. However, I do not reject the possibility out of hand, although when the supernatural is brought in as an explanation for a phenomenon it tends to be a dead end, since anything is possible with the supernatural.

I have my issues with Steve Skojec, but calling him an atheist is not accurate, at least if we are to take what he says about his present beliefs at face value. He’s more agnostic. But even if he were an atheist, what does that have to do with the merits of his viewpoint here, especially on an issue Church teaching is silent on? I’m not quite sure how the existence of extraterrestrial intelligence squares with Christian redemption, though.
It would be exciting to discover ET life somewhere in the big wide Universe and it fascinated me as a child. Not as much as the “conspiracy” part of governments hiding it.
But the way I understand it that could not be the case if we are to understand and believe Gods revelations to us.
God created the Universe – living and non-living are all part of His creation. He created us in His own image and likeness so that we may be with Him and to love Him and He to love us. He also gave us dominion over His creation (that’s key). If we believe Genesis then we believe all this to be true. And we take it at face value.
It’s fair to assume, therefore, that we are the centre of Gods world because He sent His only Son (only) being the operative word here, to die for us so that we may be reunited with Him for eternity.
Therefore, knowing and believing this as Christians, it’s difficult to accept why God would have created other beings, which we have no knowledge of or the ability to have knowledge of and which have no relation to Gods creation motive as we understand it.
It’s almost like saying (and please don’t laugh at my comparison) that if God created other “beings” which reside on other planets besides our own, then God is like a father who has one family, tells them He loves and makes them believe they are his all, but on the other hand has another family on the side. We would question Gods love for us his special creation set apart from all creation.

There’s a speed limit out there in every solar system, galaxy and everywhere in the Universe it’s [C]. This is not like designing a new ship that can go faster. You can’t go faster than [C], that’s built into the fabric of “normal” space.
If there are beings with intelligent life other than ourselves why are we assuming they also were created in the image of God? Take the dolphin, some say is the most intelligent animal on earth and supposing it is endowed with and surpasses human intelligence, what in the final analysis does that make the dolphin? A dolphin. Not a man and certainly not a child of God who is offered salvation. Intelligence does not make an animal human. Or the lack of intelligence in a human being an animal.
Man is uniquely made in God’s image and benefactors of his gift of salvation. Beyond that? Nada.
And if these objects are angels perhaps we should not jump to the conclusion they are not fallen angels. What if Satan is using these ‘objects’ to try to lead man away from the thought that we are not God’s creation but descendants of ‘aliens’ from outside our world?
