Perspecftive.

According to the Fed [if you can believe it] there is approximately $2 trillion in circulating coin and currency [Federal Reserve Notes]. The US money supply M1 is just under $20 trillion. Consumer debt amounts to about $16.5 trillion. US nominal GDP is about $25 trillion. The Federal debt is $31.5 trillion – last time it was greater than GDP was in WWII.
