Go here to read an alternative view of the end phase of the current pontificate. PopeWatch believes that the Pope is bleeding allies and adding adversaries. He has simply been too abrasive and not sought support and counsel prior to issuing edicts. A pope is absolute only in theory. Popes that act like lone rangers usually see their initiatives forgotten soon after their deaths. The Church is a huge and unwieldy institution, in human terms, and it is too much for any one man to dominate long term.

This man wearing white is getting worse all the time and not bothering to have photo aps or anything anymore; there is no more pretending to be humble or even Catholic. He dropped a number of “f-bombs” when speaking to Spanish seminarians recently. He is far more than a disgrace. I pray he dies in a state of grace but may it be soon.

LQC: It is really bad form to appeal to the Almighty for a certain punishment. An appeal for wisdom and devotion would be more appropriate.
