The Republicans will be able to stop all legislative initiatives of the White House and will be able to conduct endless investigations. A more substantive majority would have fostered the illusion that the Republicans could pass bills, an exercise in futility without control of the White House. I am still shocked and disappointed at no Red Wave in most of the country, but this means that the Democrats own the recession and they have an eighty year old dementia patient in the White House who now fancies himself a political genius. 2024 should be beyond interesting.

Exposing the corruption and evil only has meaningful value if the majority of people shun wanting the evil. I’m not certain that is the case in today’s America. However, that wonderful thing those old nuns taught me still hasn’t deserted me…and that is “hope.”
Oz’s Wicked had a battalion of flying monkeys. The billionaires, deep state and dem oligarchs have an Army division of lying monkey in academia, the media and $$$ bloated ‘think’ tanks to gull the majority of Americans who are low-IQ, low-info dependents on the regimes.
I have Hope, too. It’s the only thing standing between Hell and high water.
Viva Cristo Rey!
Biden.
A chastisement of sorts.
A scourge, intentionally set in motion, will continue until 2024.
Biden. Let’s go Brandon.
Building back better from prosperity to poverty. A true jackass. From oil Independence to oil dependency. From national oil reserves to be used in times of war or stress, to depletion of reserves due to incompetence and failed planning. Building back better.

I can hardly wait to see what hell he will create in the USA in the coming 24 months. Rather, to see what the CCP has been granted to do within our borders. They are brothers after all, It’s just business…man.
“lying monkeys”-well said. They have the same creative power as flying monkeys, which is none. All they can do is destroy and defecate. And, now that their wicked witch has melted from the last election, the only mystery is who will replace her. Given all the eunuchs in the Democratic party, I’m guessing it will be Gretchen Whitmer, the governor from that state up North. (In light of it being _ichigan week, I cannot say the name of that state.)
“2024 should be beyond interesting.” Chinese-curse-style.
The Chinese have no such curse.
They do have a belief that to be a successful leader you need the “mandate of Heaven” which the current administration clearly does not have.
The Republicans will be able to stop all legislative initiatives of the White House
I’m not optimistic. The Democrats have an infuriating tendency to vote as a bloc. The Republicans do not (upcoming Senate vote on same-sex “marriage” as a case in point)
and will be able to conduct endless investigations.
Yeah, this I expect. endless investigations, hearings, studies, discussions, committee meetings …
Am I being too cynical? I have history on my side
wll be able to conduct endless investigations.
Yep. like what has the FBI not been doing about Hunter Biden’s laptop, and why they have been giving top priority about arresting pro-lifers for non-violations of the abortion clinic access law.
“The Chinese have no such curse.” They don’t have fortune cookies, either, but you probably still call the restaurants that serve fortune cookies “Chinese restaurants”. You knew what I was talking about.
Yep, and since your statement recycled a myth I find annoying I pointed it out. Fortune cookies were actually Japanese in origin. They became a thing in Chinese restaurants in the US and spread abroad, helped on by the fact that around World War II Japanese fortune cookies would have encountered massive sales resistanc.
… I thought Outis was going with The Monkey’s Paw, which could actually explain the results of the last two elections … I don’t want to see what happens after that third wish!
Red Tsunami in 2024, I mean 2026, I mean 2028…
Can McCarthy be a better Speaker than Paul Ryan, or John Boehner….a low bar indeed.
Actually JMJ some of the data coming in from 2022 is quite interesting: the Republicans got more votes than the Democrats in the House races, there was a red wave in some states, notably in New York where five House seats switched from Dems to Republicans; the Republicans got a higher percentage of Hispanic votes than ever; the GOP is radically expanding its blue collar base; in some states like California the Republicans are beating the Dems at the ballot harvesting game. The results were overall disappointing for the Republicans, but the signs for the future are overall good for the GOP.
Who will enforce their subpoenas when they are ignored. The Garland Justice Department? I hope I am wrong, but am not optimistic. You may say “public pressure “. But, are there still enough people who care to make a difference?
Who will enforce their subpoenas when they are ignored.
The Speaker of the House can order the House Sergeant of Arms to arrest and hold someone disobeying a subpeona in custody.
Really? Why didn’t they do that with Eric Holder?
Ask former Speaker Boehner. The House attempting to arrest a sitting Attorney General would have been the epitome of a clash of the branches.
I see your point … but he was in contempt of congress. What’s the point of a system of checks and balances if some people are too well positioned to check? It’s not like the current DoJ is going to investigate anyone in the Executive Branch any time soon.
I hope the House will use the power vested in it to use the Sergeant at Arms to arrest contemporaries. However, I think it relevant to note that this power has not been exercised by Congress since 1935. Unfortunately, I am not sure they have the political will to take this action.
Sorry, contemporaries should read contemnors.
