Surprise!

Amazing that any conservatives lend support to this KGB thug.

Devil’s advocate: it might make sense if what he is against is what the majority of Americans are against?
This has been a hard one. I pray for the people of Ukraine bc they are the victims.
But I can’t be so naive or blind as to our criminal politicians were using Ukraine for nefarious purposes.
When our govt has passed laws making it mandatory if we give aide to countries it includes abortion, ABC, and whatever hell flavor gender they feel the day, I can see why countries are against US and for Russia.
It changed just briefly when Trump was in office.
Our own CCHD bent the knee and includes it so they can get grant money to give in aide. We know this.
I don’t like the “us” that is being promoted and shipped across the world either.

“The Soviet Union and Russia have always, and continue to this day, to support the Cuban people in their struggle for independence, sovereignty.” Putin fails to understand his own hollow words when it comes to Ukraines struggle for self-identity. He’s also indifferent to the fact that Cubans have daily power outages and shortages of medicine, food and fuel. So what freedom equality and justice is he referring to when it comes to the citizens of Cuba?

Does Putin’s quote mean another Cuban missile crisis? Then God help us with the Biden Administration in charge.

Now that the darling poster child for the green, climate change that our Church and those in power support has said it’s not about changing the climate but the system, Capitalism, and at the same time the word “democracy “ has been under attack here by anyone who objects to what they are doing, exactly who is at war? Some say let the courts decide but we know in some areas Soros has funded replacing DA w those who will ignore the crime of some, and severely punish others.
We have had a military like campaign against us during this Covid and jab rollout via the media, cooperation w big tech to silence anyone who objects.
Remind me again who is at war?
If I could be honest I agree more w Russia than I do who is trying to overtake the US and make it one big conglomerate open door society (which our own pope loves the idea).
I’m American and a patriot. But I know we are under attack here.
IOW, I don’t think you will see myself or children on frontlines in Ukraine against Russia.
🤷🏻‍♀️

Putin is a dictator, rules Russia like a dictator and thinks he has the right to stick his nose in anyone else’s business.
Lukashenko in Belarus does most of what Putin expects of him and Putin wanted such a man running Ukraine. He had his guy in Yanukovich but the Ukrainians rose up and threw him out.
Putin has continued the tried and true Russian practice of cruelty to its neighbors.
Won’t stop Tucker Carlson from whining about impending nuclear annihilation.

The support for Putin in this particular endeavour is based on witless fictions. The menu of fictions varies from one exponent to another. They’re all pretty impenetrable. Nowadays, the Putin admirers in fora like this are also in the business of defending whatever inanity they offered last month, at which time they were defending the inanity they offered the month previous.

Art:
I have used the term “spartanism” to describe the unaccountable admiration some in democratic societies have extended to authoritarian states, beginning with the admiration of brutal Sparta by Athenians like Plato (who was circumspect in those views). Free societies are messy and we tolerate some things of which we disapprove to protect other things. Because our leaders are relentlessly criticized their faults stand out, whereas those of a Stalin or Putin are hidden, because no one can speak them. Yet unfortunately, it’s not just “witless fictions” that attract admiration. Athens knew how Sparta treated the helots and subordinated everything to success in war. Western admirers of Putin see a proud, kick-butt nationalist with no tolerance for “globalism”, green fascism and pronoun nonsense, whose followers kick perversion to the curb (literally). They admire ends (some frankly good end) while disregarding the ethics of means. In this they are little different from the American Communists described by Chambers, who knew exactly what Stalin was doing, but felt the horrors worth it “for the Cause”.

I think that’s his point. Putin’s position is that western sanctions are the reason Cuba suffers these shortages and outages. Now that Russia is suffering from western sanctions as well, and these historic allies are “bonding” over them … Add (also sanctioned) Iran and N. Korea to the mix and we can see the axis beginning to form that we’ll be fighting if we are somehow dragged into this war.

Putin’s position is that western sanctions are the reason Cuba suffers these shortages and outages. That maybe Putin’s reason however the US trade Embargo on Cuba began in 1961- and Cuba’s alliance with the former Soviet Union gave it a lifeline for 30years with sugar exports. Cuba’s biggest economic blow came in 1991 with the collapse of the USSR, Cuba’s biggest trade partner. The collapse of USSR reduced Cuba’s GDP by 35%. The impact has been likened to being worse than The Great Depression on a small population of 11million ppl. The country has not really “recovered” since. It has a history of relying on a few key countries for cheap resources ie. Venezuela for cheap oil, but that becomes a problem when the country has its own economic problems, as Venezuela currently does. Cuba does currently export goods to China, Canada, Spain such as tobacco, nickel/minerals, some agriculture, pharmaceutical products but it’s spending is greater than its export revenue. Now Cuba has gone back to relying on Russia by allowing Russia offshore oil drilling. Cuba’s inability to generate a steady source of revenue to provide resources for its citizens is a direct result of its historic ties to Soviet Union, and now Russia. They can’t keep blaming the US and the West. China trade deals alone could prop them up. But once again Russia fails to see that it is a problem for Cuba’s economic stability, blaming the boogie men, the US and its allies.

Witless fiction, communist Stalin sympathizer.
😂
Ok.
I’ll jump to the end, China wins bc Trump was correct, we needed to decouple from them, get rid of NATO (which btw would have solved part of Russia’s objection – or at least they couldn’t give THAT excuse).
Our current leaders in the very least are not trustworthy (FTX money laundering) and in the worse compromised (treason) w China.
That’s what I will agree w.

That maybe Putin’s reason

More like Putin’s propaganda. He’s not an idiot, or an ideologue (true ideologues aren’t corruptible) He knows the facts you’ve laid out here … He also knows that the perception among his sympathizers is that, were the U.S. trading with Cuba, their situation would be greatly improved. This press release was designed to exploit that perception.

This past week:
A judge has ordered an FBI agent can be deposed in the coercion of Social media to suppress people (his name is Elvis Chan)
Wray fell over himself answering questions about not only CCP here in US, but they have their police “stationed” in NY to keep tabs on Chinese/Americans (btw, they consider descendants of those to still be Chinese)
Those are the 2 big ones going on. I’ll agree that Zuck didn’t need his arm twisted far to be on the look out for this Russian disinformation and domestic terrorists.

By all means hate Putin forever. Love Putin.
Looking at that, this Russia Ukraine is a distraction from what is going on right under our noses.
Suppose Trump being a business man did speak w Putin and he gave the things that bother him and Trump wants to call his bluff (or not) by agreeing to get rid of NATO. Or at least we would no longer participate.
Then had Putin still done it, egg on his face.
I know those in power are not trustworthy.
I know China has been focused on not only conquering US but all else also.
And before you say anything about they don’t have troop power etc, they’ve already been influencing our youth via TikTok and gathering info.
We have gone through the demoralization stage.
The FBI is focus on one thing, get Trump.
Will we live long enough to know the Biden’s we’re paid off by China to do this?
So, I’m not on the Putin is terrible thug.
I ask again, who is my enemy?

That doesn’t mean it’s irrelevant or unworthy of our attention … There’s serious stuff happening in Eastern Europe. If we’re being attacked on two fronts, it would be foolish to ignore one because it’s farther away.

I ask again, who is my enemy?

Can’t we have more than one?

I despise both Putin (he’s a murderous gangster thug) and Zelenskyy (he supports all the Western right to chose and LGBTQ inclusivity).

The victims are the innocent Russian conscript soldiers being order to their deaths and the innocent Ukrainian people being bombed and shelled out of house and home.

” Some say let the courts decide but we know in some areas Soros has funded replacing DA w those who will ignore the crime of some, and severely punish others.”
The Eighth Amendment prohibits cruel and unusual punishment, as in a $136,000.00 fine for not baking a gay cake. Or the loss of livelihood or judicial harrassment. Refusng to bake a gay wedding cake is self-defense of one’s soul. If atheists refuse to admit of the rational, immortal human soul, that is their problem not ours. Sodomy is not the marital act. Piteable that sodomites cannot know sublime love. Freedom from religion is not in our Constitution.

Putin does not tolerate homosexualism in Russia, but I am sure his KGB superiors were fine with it gaining traction in the West.
Love it or hate it, NATO is not going anywhere. Russia’s incursion in Georgia and invasion of Ukraine have made NATO larger.
China has big internal problems, a lack.of domestic energy, a corrupt military and they make junk.
The Gulf War and the Iraq War proved that Russia’s military uses junk.
Cuba is poor because it is Communist. End of discussion.

Nothing that Ukrainians and/or their leaders support justifies Russian leaders ongoing and/or planned genocide of the Ukrainians. Period.
