Dictatorships fall when enough fed up people say to themselves, “Better death than this.”
Now this is real courage. These players are likely to face severe consequences. Unlike the weak virtue signalling take-the-knee hypocrites whose activism costs nothing…and as soon as it does, they stop. https://t.co/A4hfklHomr

👏 This has been brewing for decades. It was always going to be the youth who would end up sticking it to the mullahs. A perfect stage to do this. Because the current global human rights outrage directed at Qatar was because of LGBTQ rights. What about the women who are treated as sub-human in that part of the world?
Ezabelle:
The problem in the Islamic world is Islam. It generates oppressive cultures, not merely oppressive governments. Thus, any “revolution” tends to knock an Islamic regime around inside a sort of iron triangle, bounded by theocracy, secular dictatorship and tribal or sectarian chaos. Unless large numbers of people want to challenge the “revelations” (rantings) of the Prophet, the cycle of misery will go on. They need to break the triangle.
Agree Tom. Islam creates oppressive societies because the teachings (rantings) of the Prophet deny free will which God has given each person. The lie which Islam perpetuates is that women are free to wrap or not. Yet when they don’t, they are punished.
The younger generations have been building upon this revolution, and because of social media the government can’t suppress it. The world is seeing. The protesters and these acts of defiance won’t topple the regime alone, which would be the ultimate goal, but it might generations down the line. The key is to maintain the pressure and the struggle. Otherwise they are completely defeated and won’t get anywhere. I also think there is support from the children and grandchildren of those who left Iran after the Shah was removed. The memory of that lives on in the younger generations and there is a score to settle there.

I’m told Britain’s had a ‘conservative’ government for the last 12 years.
More people in Anglophone countries need to get fed up.

Art that link was blocked by the Australian eSafety Commissioner so I couldn’t access it. In brief what was it about? And most English speaking nations are suppressing the rage in fear they will be called “racist” or “privileged because of skin colour” etc and so forth…
