Election Night Open Thread

As usual, TAC will have an open thread for election night.  The polls indicate a strong red wave for the Republicans, with the GOP taking control of Congress.  We shall all find out soon enough.

Things to watch for tonight:  Does Herschel Walker win the Senate race in Georgia?  If neither candidate gets 50 percent there will be a run off in December.  I do not expect we will know who wins the Senate contest in Pennsylvania tonight, and perhaps not for days.  (It takes time to manufacture count votes in Philly.)  In Wisconsin if Senator Johnson wins quickly that will be a good sign for Republicans.  The Senate contest in New Hampshire could be a nail biter but probably quickly counted.  I expect the Senate races in Arizona and Nevada to be close, so we many not know tomorrow night which party controls the Senate.  I do think it will be clear tomorrow that the GOP will control the House, which turns Joe Biden into dead president walking.

Lots of interesting gubernatorial contests, including New York, Pennsylvania, Wisconsin, Arizona, Nevada and Washington.  If the GOP takes New York, or comes close, it will likely be a very long night for the Democrats.

It promises to be an exciting election night if not an edifying one!

God save the right and the United States of America.

As always, put your comments in the comboxes.  Election night open threads are always a major task.  I cannot do it alone and I always appreciate your comments indicating what you are seeing.

CST 8:30 AM-Voted.  I would call the turnout heavy for a midterm.  They were asking to see licenses.  I haven’t seen that done before here, but I heartily approve, as did my Bride who voted with me.

CST 12:04 PM-Surprise!

Stay at the polling site until Hell freezes over or your ballot is properly tabulated, whichever comes first.  The Democrat candidate for governor of Arizona is in charge of Arizona elections.  Just a coincidence I am sure.

CST 4:41 PM   Lots of reports around the country from Democrat and Republican sources of lower than expected Democrat turnout and higher than expected Republican turnout.

CST 5:30 PM

CST 5:45 Pollster Richard Baris is calling this a Red Tsunami from what he is seeing.

CST 7:00 PM  The House flips begin:

DeSantis has been re-elected as Governor of Florida and Rubio is re-elected as Senator.  Neither result was unexpected.

CST 7:20 PM

CST 8:50 PM Herschel Walker taking the lead in the Georgia race.  Vance is beginning to run away with the Ohio Senate race.

CST 10:30  I apologize for the lack of posts, but I am waiting out a lot of close votes.  I am turning in and we will see what this looks like early tomorrow morning.  Overall the night thus far has been disappointing for the Republicans, but there are still a lot of races to be resolved.

November 9, 2022

CST 4:15  The idiots good people of Pennsylvania have sent an addled man, Fetterman, to the Senate.  The Georgia Senate race is going to a run off in December.  Ron Johnson wins re-election to the Senate from Wisconsin.  Adam Laxalt is ahead in his Senate race in Nevada.  Blake Masters is behind in his race for the Senate from Arizona, but with enough votes outstanding to win, which I think he has a good chance to do.  If Laxalt and Masters win the Republicans gain control of the Senate.  If Masters loses his Senate race, control comes down to the Georgia runoff.  Deja Vu all over again.

In the House it looks like the Republicans will take it, probably with a razor thin margin.

I hate to give the pro-aborts credit for anything, but I think, at least in blue and purple states, an unexpected surge in pro-abort younger voters turned a Wave election into a meh night for the Republicans.  Much more to come in the days to come.

Fetterman’s handlers are preparing for post-election ballot-box stuffing. The Democratic Party is a criminal organization.

I recommend that Philadelphia county be put under a glass dome, the inhabitants put to sleep. Maybe the Donald can give all the ladies a kiss to wake them up after the 2024 election.

Even the moon was red this morning! Short line at my polling place outside Baltimore. I like to say I’m in West Berlin. Good local results likely. It will take a big wave to get us a Republican governor.

A side note – I am in a heavily Red county in a heavily Red state, and our ballot this go-round is phenomenally unexciting. I can’t even tell you who the D candidate for Senator is because I didn’t see any ads at all.

Usually the local precincts have to dig relatively deep to get workers, especially during early voting days. I have worked the polls for the past three elections and always been able to work my own precinct but for one time two years ago.

This time, when I did the usual sign up routine, I was too late. All the positions were filled weeks before voting began. I’d like to believe that represents some level of increased enthusiasm, especially for a ho-hum area like mine.

So…election fraud in Arizona where the Lioness is running. I hope to God Almighty that regardless of Democrat cheating, she uses her claws to tear them to shreds.

The Simpsons, way back during the 1996 presidential election, had a joke where aliens stole the bodies of Clinton and Dole, and one of the aliens final arguments before the election was “I look forward to an orderly election tomorrow, so there’ll be no need for a violent bloodbath!” At the time, I thought it was hilarious. Since 2016, I’m afraid it was prophetic.

How can mentally dysfunctional Fetterman be at 62.7% in Pennsylvania and Oz at 36.1%?

Are Pennsylvanians as metally dysfunctional as Fetterman?

LQC, Some states count mail in ballots first (usually Dem); then vote in person ballots after the polls close.

Yes, CAM, the tide is turning. 51.1% for the brain damaged imbecile and 46 5% for Oz. Thanks!

Welp, might not have been all that good a night for Trump endorsed candidates… Zeldin, Dixon and Mastriano all lost, Masters losing last I looked, Lake much closer than expected, Walker too close for comfort… On the bright side, Stacy Abrams had to actually concede this time around.

LCQ, it’s the case that not all Pennsylvanians are demented, even though Fetterman won. If Trump hadn’t stuck his nose into the primary there would have been a better candidate who would have won.

Ouch.
Michigan took a step into the darkness yesterday. I was feeling very somber reading the news this morning…until I finally went to Scripture.

Today’s first reading;

The angel brought me
back to the entrance of the temple,
and I saw water flowing out
from beneath the threshold of the temple toward the east,
for the façade of the temple was toward the east;
the water flowed down from the southern side of the temple,
south of the altar.
He led me outside by the north gate,
and around to the outer gate facing the east,
where I saw water trickling from the southern side.
He said to me,
“This water flows into the eastern district down upon the Arabah,
and empties into the sea, the salt waters, which it makes fresh.
Wherever the river flows,
every sort of living creature that can multiply shall live,
and there shall be abundant fish,
for wherever this water comes the sea shall be made fresh.
Along both banks of the river, fruit trees of every kind shall grow;
their leaves shall not fade, nor their fruit fail.
Every month they shall bear fresh fruit,
for they shall be watered by the flow from the sanctuary.
Their fruit shall serve for food, and their leaves for medicine.

The waters don’t stop. They will never stop regardless of the outcomes of mans feeble attempts to rule.

Those that are happily fed and thirsts quenched by this living water flowing from the Temple fear nothing. Their foundation is Christ. Nothing shall disturb him that has built his home upon the Rock.

My mom passed away on this day in 2015. She is at the fountain now, I pray, watching the source of eternal life spring forth for souls who are marching forward in this valley of tears.

I will keep marching forward with the banners of Truth and Righteousness.
The evils of the day must retreat when His Light is revealed. Hope for Michigan isn’t over. It never fails. Hope does spring eternal.

Job 1:21.

The vail of tears rolls on.

Our true home, the Kingdom, is not here. Never will be.

I know my Redeemer lives.

Blessed be the Name of The Lord.

That being said. Prepare for the worst.

Despite the disappointment, we can look on the bright side knowing Stacy Abrams actually conceded this time.

For all my life Republicans have lost due to election fraud. For all my life I have been told that this is only possible due to having poor candidates making the margin of victory too close. For example when Al Fraken brazenly stole his senate seat, it was said that since he only ended up “winning” by 312 votes that it was only an issue due to Coleman being neck and neck with him.

Now this was always a dumb cope: even if the enemy only wins when things are close, why should we just hand over ties and narrow victories to them? But it also led to the dems being more and more brazen and thus the size of a “fraud proof margin of victory” becoming larger over time. In 2008 in MN it might have been 500 or so votes, but now it’s enough that even a “red wave” isn’t insurance.
