Love that the Babylon Bee got Ted Cruz to be in this video.
This is a great series; I thought the BBQ one was hilarious.
There is an interesting irony to this video. I can’t remember if it was on What are the Odds or his interview with Turley, but Baris mentioned the data shows that if only native Texans had voted, Beto would have won the last election; it was the “leftugees” from places like California who kept him out of office.
The Bee is truly wheels within wheels.
To be fair, there are millions of people like my wife and me who have more or less recently moved to Texas from places other than CA. In our case it was a work-related transfer from St. Louis. I would be fascinated to see a reputable poll of corporate transferees to Texas from, say, the past 25 years, to measure their voting habits.
There has been some interesting work recently on the voting patterns of Cali expats in Texas. As a group they vote more conservative than native Texans.
I have been making calls to TX, gathering data preparatory to my move. I always issue a disclaimer when they ask from whence I am coming. “But I’m not one of Those! The ones who move to Austin.” Thus far, I have been warmly received. I am thinking, however, of framing and hanging a copy of the land grant awarded to my great+ grandfather for his military service for the Republic of Texas during the War. Just as a sort of bona fide.
I recently saw a post on Instagram of a Catholic lady who owns a store where she makes Catholic lifestyle products (baby accessories with gospel quotes, Saint themed partyware, art prayers etc…) her stuff is beautiful and appeal to my age group. It’s a modern take on Catholic products.
Anyway, she is one of those people who moved from California to Texas. I get the feeling she is for stricter laws for gun ownership. But she was bemoaning the fact that schools are sending out DNA test to parents of student incase there is a school massacre- in order for parents to be able to identify their children. She has two very small children (aren’t at school age yet), but she was saying that she can’t live in a State where something like this is ok. And where gun laws are not stricter. She received a lot of backlash from other Catholics and ended up posting in her defence that her political view on gun ownership has nothing to do with being Catholic. Anyway, I thought that was interesting enough to share here. Not sure if she would be in the minority on a place like Texas.
“are sending out DNA test to parents of student in case there is a school massacre-”
They are in case a kid gets kidnapped so that the parents can have a DNA sample on file.

Thanks for the clarification Don.
