The Blue Collar Billionaire. The late Cardinal John O’Connor, decades before Trump got into politics, used to say that he never called Trump for help on a charitable cause and met with a refusal. Trump reminds me of men I have known on the fringes of parishes: often irregular lives and not too regular in attendance at Mass, but who could always be relied upon to help any way they could when asked. Too many politicians end up as artificial creations of their own devising, machines to get votes and that is about all. Trump, for all his flaws, is a red blooded man in full.
From what I’ve seen there appears to be a genuine relationship between Trump and his voters. What was stated near the end of the article plays a part in this.
